Yeah.
In the original version of the original Star Wars, Han Solo shot an alien in cold blood. In the Special Edition it was edited so the alien draws and fires first and misses before Han draws and kills him.
People were ******** and nearly twenty years later the ******** continues. Personally I don't think the change is that big a deal, and in fact makes the scene feel more dynamic, but whatever.
lol, wow. I guess I kinda know how that feels coz I grew up during the harry potter era and I was a hardcore fan of that, and I'm annoyed with a lot of it. Do you remember the "I'm not going in that room with 2 jedis" scene I'm talking about or am I just bugging out?
I never really saw Mass Effect as much like Star Wars
word, yeah. I'm sure bioware took some inspiration from it but I hear it is more like star trek than star wars because of all the dialogue.
I don't think anyone said that did they? Or I didn't at least and I was the one who brought Star Wars into the conversation. That was just a characters vs plot eg though. And then there was the even bigger than Darth Vader being Luke's dad reveal that Baneful hasn't seen Star Wars!

I'm sorry man. I'll sit through it all someday I promise.
It's only a party if you want it to be.
If the world was about to end, and the possibility of not seeing my friends again existed, I would want to have one last great time with them, that's what the DLC is, a farewell.
Shepard during the course of the game in a few instances said things like "I'll sleep when I'm dead" even though he does actually sleep in certain instances, but the point is from a narrative standpoint, this farewell is happening DURING the reaper war. The entirety of Me3 should've made you feel the weight of the reaper war the entire time because it is supposed to be a war on a galactic-apocalyptic level. All the while during Me3 there are things that take me out of that, and this citadel dlc is no exception.
Just with that, ME3 becomes the best game of the entire trilogy, with a strong narrative, unlike the rest of ME2 which was only about it's characters, the best thing about it, and the stupid Lazarus Project.
yeah see, my reaction too was to give a gif to show how much I disagree with this. not only that, but you're saying that this dlc
makes Me3 the best in the trilogy, so if it is a segment that feels THAT substantial, it means paying for the game and then paying for the dlc to get the real Me3 experience. Now, that is simply how dlc works, but you're making it sound like the citadel dlc shouldn't have been dlc but campaign already in Me3.
because of reasons I've already stated, the citadel dlc from a narrative standpoint would not enhance my inherent playthrough of Me3 because of just knowing when it takes place. The correct response from Shepard should be
"No. God willing there will be time for celebration once we're done with the war but there is NO time to waste right now." I'm assuming there is a dialogue option similar to this, but that the events of the dlc happen anyway.
And I've already said, objectively, this dlc is probably a joy to play through - and it would've made sense as a POST ENDING dlc but no such thing exists in Me3. Since it is not, it does nothing but make the narrative feel overall more inconsequential because the endings are still identical in the end. No mention of how many extra people were killed because of what you took time to do the citadel dlc crap.
That's what ME:N should be about, strong characters with a solid narrative, a fresh start, but jumping into Andromeda is just... Ew.
Yes. I'll agree with you there.
Thanks for the insightful reply
