The Official Mega Man Thread

I never liked it. I don't understand the love it got. The controls were incredibly clunky, and the camera was awful.

it was an open world Mega Man game with RPG elements thrown it and had memorable and interesting characters. The game was great. Most PS1 era games had awful controls and bad camera. I mean look at Capcom's other classic, Resident Evil. I cant imagine going back to play it now but back then it looked and felt great.

Well, I was talking about what I thought about it back when it originally came out. I haven't touched the game since the 90s.

The game's controls or cameras weren't ever that bad. That aren't even that bad now, though they lack the full analog stick support one considers standard today.

been replaying mega man 2 lately
love how satisfying the metal blade weapon still is

All of the Mega Man Legends re-released in one place now, yes.

Figures they would put these out on an old platform. I don't mean to sound unappreciative, I'm super glad they finally re-released them, it just seems like even when they give the franchise a modicum of attention they do it in a weirdly backhanded way.

Like, if this was some kind of test to see if there was enough potential interest the series to revive MML3 or something similar*, then way to cut off your efforts at the knees by releasing them on a ten year old platform that probably not a lot of people interested in MML are still playing games on.

*I don't really think that's the case, but I'm just throwing that out there.

Well, they're not releasing PS1 titles on PS4, and I assume due to licensing and emulation they can't release them on Wii U or Xbox One. So, I don't know what options there really are outside PC, but I don't know if that would really bring all that much attention to it either.

They could Release Mega Man 64 on the Wii U, which is basically the Nintendo port of Legends.

Oh right, I forgot about that. Still, though, couldn't release the sequel or Tron Bonne. Until Sony starts authorizing PS1 games on PS4, third parties are kind of stuck about that.

I thought it was okay. The main problem I had with it was the sound seemed washed out.

...and with the direction of modern cartoons, like Teen Titans Go!, and all the Disney XD Marvel cartoons, we just know this will be a real gem

I can't wait to see the dumb Sonic Boom-esque redesigns complete with a big meathead Protoman.

Mega Man is receiving a new animated series courtesy of Man of Action and Dentsu Entertainment USA. In the past, Dentsu has worked on such shows as LBXand Monsuno while Man of Action is known for Ben 10 and Generator Rex. The two groups will develop the show together, with Man of Action writing the script and serving as executive producer. DHX Media will help develop and distribute the 26 episode series world-wide.
The new series is intended for long-time fans and children brand new to the franchise. New characters will be mixed in with familiar faces such as Rush. Mega Man himself will be a schoolboy named Aki Light, dawning his iconic helmet and armor in secret. Here is how the series is being described:
The new animated Mega Man series focuses on a normal, upbeat schoolboy robot, who discovers that deep within his programming lies secret protocols that can transform him into the powerful Mega Man. And, as the world’s first robotic super-hero, Mega Man must face the threats of Silicon City, while trying to preserve his secret identity and maintain a regular robot boy life.
The series is aiming for a release late next year in conjunction with the 30thanniversary of the franchise.

For those of you playing Breath of Fire 6 and are looking to add some more power to your game check this out. Capcom have officially announced that fourMega Man costumes will be available for players to download starting September 13th.

These costumes will make your characters look like Classic Mega Man, Mega Man Volnutt, Roll or Tron Bonne. These costumes will give your character a stamina boost along with an increase in attack and defense.

Breath of Fire 6 is only available in Japan for now. Despite the fact that we have not gotten a new game in a while, Capcom has been releasing a lot of Mega Man-related merchandise lately and throwing references to the series in several games. Perhaps this is leading up to a new announcement soon?

THIS JUST IN!

Capcom re-re-re-releases the NES Mega Man games for the 14th time...

...in four years...

Will claim fans don't really want more (ie: NEW) Mega Man if consumers don't own these games at least 12 times over.
