it pretty much means "geek".I bet half of you don't even know where the term "Akiba" derives from![]()
meh. it took me a few frustrating minutes to realize what to do. But then it was one of those "slap yer forehead n curse your own name" moments. Why did people have so much trouble working out:
a) How to defeat Vamp and
b) How to shake Mantis' control of you?
I thought it was incredibly simple and not up to par with the usual MGS mind-****ery. (Switching ports FTW)
I dont get it bc the game pretty much tells you how to overcome bothWhy did people have so much trouble working out:

If they do do a remake, I dont think it will be quite what people expect. I dont think we'll see a MG remake with MGS4 graphics and gameplay. If anything they will remake it and either put it out for the PSP or on the PSN. Either way it would be a much smaller title. I see it kind of getting the Bionic Commando Rearmed treatment
it pretty much means "geek".

Of course, but that's still not what it's derived from.
Akiba is short for "Akihabara," a district in Tokyo where Otaku flourish. Every geek, dork, nerd, and pervert's wet dreams are in this district. Everything from the latest technology, PVC collectibles, and porn you can find. The term "Akiba Boy" is something you don't want to be called, as it is even worse than being called Otaku in Japan. So unless you have a tricked out car with an anime girl as a paintjob, and DVD/LCD monitors in said car playing the anime said anime girl is from everytime you start your engine, I doubt you're an "Akiba Boy"
Never been to the eight floor porn store yet myself but I'm kinda stuck in the desert for the time being. Perhaps when I return![]()
I have Portable Ops but can barely play it bc the controls suck. This is the one PSP title that really needed a 2nd analog stickTo this day I kind of scratch my head as to why they didn't use the classic top-view gameplay for MGS Portable Ops. The game was one of the best PSP titles made, for sure, but the camera system was NOT portable friendly by any means. The classic MGS camera would have been perfect for PSP's smaller screen and more limited controls, so it's a shame that that's not the route they went.
Anyway, a remake of the original MG with MGS2 style graphics and gameplay on PSP could be amazing. I recently started playing the MG port that was included with MGS3: Subsistence, and it's pretty cool-- although nothing compared to what Metal Gear has since evolved into. I want to see what they can do with it on a modern system with large-scale production values!
I killed Vamp like 50 times then went "Right, clearly not doing something right here..."

Its not a part of the game. Its its own seperate program which is accessible from the XMBHow do you get to the database, the main menu?
it stands for Cross Media Bar and its the PS3's main menu system where you can change settings, select video, photos, games, see friends, etc....What's the XMB? Sorry, I don't own a PS3, I just played it marathon style at my friends apartment a couple weeks ago.
