Are you sure that isn't his in game model. The Close up at the end of the newest trailer has the same detail on the lips and wrinkles around the eyes. That could very well be the most up to date model.

The end of the TGS06 trailer wasn't gameplay, neither was the beginning (with Snake amongst the dead soliders).

Although the cutscenes in MGS are never CGI, the character models have more detail than their gameplay versions.

At this stage I'm not worried. This was the first gameplay trailer. If you've ever watched the MGS3 trailers, you'd see that the quality of both the cutscene and gameplay graphics improved as development progressed. I expect the same will happen here.

If TGS07 rolls around, and KP is still dishing out these graphics, THEN I'll be disappointed.

Most of the textures in the footage were low res place holder textures. Not the final high res versions.

I will admit. This picture of Old Snake is badass as ****:

Too bad the in-game model looks like ****. If Snake looked like that, with that level of detail, he would be perfect.

That's like an exact reverse version of the other pic, where Snake with mask's head is in the background, and no mask Snake is crouched down.

This game looks ace, yet i somehow feel it won't retain the same feel as the previous 3 in the SOLID saga. But hey, i haven't played it, nobody has. All we have to do is wait.

Actually, one thing which is bugging me is how Kojima is going to explain Meryl's appearence in the game when in one of the two MGS1 endings she dies.

I just finished playing the MGS games so far, and I hope MGS 4 will be awesome! Unfortunatly, I'll have to wait to play it because I can't cough up $600 for the PS3.

By the time that Metal Gear Solid 4 comes out, the Playstation 3 is bound to have at least one price drop.

The voice acting and music were far superior in the original than in the remake. Except for Mei Ling and Grey Fox, it makes sense that her voice was Americanized and Grey Fox sounded more like a man who was dead yet alive at the same time.

Otacon fell down way too much. Sniper Wolf's death was brought down a notch without Enclosure. Naomi's voice had no passion in it. They went overboard with the bullet time.

The Twin Snakes was great, but the original is far better.

Probably, placeholder textures use to be a joke excuse last gen, but asset creation takes time. It's a 'late' 2007 release. MAYBE slipping into very very early 2008.
