let me get this straight, the patriots originally were BB, Zero, Ocelot, Eva, PM and Sigint BUT Zero ideal's got too bloated and decided that next gen patriots weren't worthy enough so decided to rely on AI systems to inherrit the running of the patriots and the AI sort of took over and did things their way???

Ok but within the last decade, I think its easy to assume that major zero was in no position to pose any threat of any kind due to his old age so why couldn't eva and ocelot (the remaining human patriots) just kill off zero and reset the ai systems whilst isolating the systems that keep basic stuff like bank accounts, water, electricity running?

I mean now that I think about it, wasn't the majority of the MG saga post mg2ss uneccessary and a highly orchestrated waste of time?

Is there an install EVERY time we go back and forth between acts? I knew that the beginning of each Act would have one. After doing the install for Act 2, I loaded up a save for Act 1 and it had to install and after I went back to Act 2, it had to install again. Does the game overwrite each Act install? If so WHY? It really should be a 1 time install

He was probably untouchable before he got wheel chair ridden. As for when he got old, they probably didn't want to expose themselves to the Partiots AI system. Going after a man no longer capable of defending himself isn't worth the entire system knowing where they were.

It's the same reason Ocelot had the Liquid personality implanted, the AI would see ex-Patriot Ocelot as more of a threat than Liquid. The AI system as we've seen was incredibly well guarded, they could send an army after any threat. So they had to take an underground approach and avoid being exposed.

Honestly I'm not sure. I beat the game straight thru and never tried to go back to previous acts. I assumed that after the game finished you would have installed all the game data and it'd be completely finished. I guess I'll find out whenever I try a second run thru.




I like MGO so far, they really did a good job with it. I'm liking all the modes. However while the Snake mode deal is good most of the ppl playing Snake so far have stayed in one spot with camo and were easy to find.

I'm having problems with talking thru a headset tho, I can't seem to hear other ppl, tho my Bluetooth headset works fine.

According to the Gametrailers.com review, yes you have to install everytime you go to a different chapter.

The 70,000 Metal Gear Solid 4 bundles supplied by Sony sold out immediately and with no confirmation of further shipments, it is expected that the hardware boost will be short-lived and PS3 sales will return to normal levels within the next couple of weeks. Many retailers have accused Sony of severely underestimating demand and suggest that they could have sold 2-3 times as many if the supply had been available.

You can do that on the 80GB version too. The 40GB version is the one without BC.

The 60GB and the 80GB models are Full Backwards Compatible. The 40GB model can only play PS1 games. (Though there was a rumor recently that would unlock the 40GB's BC ability via firmware.)

The 60GB model is not being manufactured anymore.

i mean, normally i play a game, and i think "this game is good, but they could have done/added/changed this that or whatever.... but here? no. this game does so much, i just can't believe it. it is everything i hoped and so much more.

Ya, Shadow Moses was full of so much nostalgia from MGS1. When you cross over key points it plays back dialog from the first game. Running over that helipad in MGS4 and hearing a flashback to Snake talking about the hind and Mei Ling describing the soliton system...awesome. I went around just to look for spots to trigger those moments, like Liquid's helicopter out by where you fought Sniper Wolf. It just felt like a complete circle to come back to where it all began and hear clips from the first game play like that.

Nah not short, just a lot of ppl played it marathon style heh. It depends on your gameplay style tho. If you stealth and collect stuff for DP then it can take you upwards for 25 hours, if you just run thru you can get it done in 15 hours or so. Took me around 20 hours myself. Plus there's replay value in repeating the single player and then there's MGO which has tons of replay value.
