Hey Kal, nobody's perfect. Just look at my freeware manips :p Curses to moving and not being able to find my adobe ps program  :D

So......

...if Zod is Kal-El's real father....

Zod got Lara in her sleep?

No, part of a secret super-soldier program of Zod's...working with Jor-El who is first unaware of it as they try to help Lara who is in poor health while carrying an unborn child. Zod knows the genetic enhancements will work on him, but he wonders how 'selective breeding' will fare for a generation of beings enhanced from birth.

I don't want Superman to be a genetic experiment. That's just me.

He's not...he's the person he was raised to be by Jonathan and Martha, and the hero he chose to be. That's what'll really mater in the end. If anything, he's more Earthling than Kryptonian in character and spirit.

That concept could be a different type of movie in and of itself.

Yeah...maybe too much of an alternate take on Superman...but maybe an interesting one, though. Also, it'd be nice to get away from the whole Donner-ish 'destined to be a hero', as deemed by Jor-El and such. His becoming Superman should be his choice, something that he realizes and pursues....even if he was originally 'bred' as something else. Zod can try to cajole him with "You were meant for more than this..." and what have you...screw that. His purpose is what he makes of it, and he chooses to be Superman, protector of Earth.

I don't even know if this film will include Jor-El and Lara. Initial reports of the script indicated it wouldn't.

Huge Kryptonian mythology, but does not involve the typical Kryptonian origins with Jor-El and Lara. At the time, there were issues with Action Comics #1, not sure if it's resolved now. It may be. Not sure if they felt the need to re-include them in the script.

I guess based on what we know now, the film could begin in Africa. Who knows..

That'll be fine, too. I'd rather that he didn't have his weekly electronically-recreated-father-and-son talks anyway. What if Superman doesn't even know he's from another planet until Zod lets the cat out of the bag?

God...I hope they don't do that peace corps stuff like in Birthright. That wasn't very interesting.

All we know is Clark is a freelance early 20s journalist in Africa amidst some civil war coup.

I really want to see some huge intelligent political intrigue thrown into this film, especially now that we've got General Zod. Seems to fit with that.

Hopefully it'll be some real impact and carnage with the civil war...artillery, etc. None of that talking to the village elder and flying over a herd of zebra stuff.

All these Africa things are rumours. We dont know anything except its an origin movie, it has Cavill as Supes, Amy Adams as Lois, Diana Lane as Martha, Kevin Coster as Jonathan and Michael Shannon as Zod.

I hope it's an 'origin' in that it's Superman's first appearance in Metropolis, and not necessarily coming from Krypton and growing up in Smallville. It'd be nice if they started it in the here and now, instead of taking 20-something minutes until we actually see Superman.

i wonder if Shannon is gonna be bulking up for the role. i kinda hope so because as imposing as he is, his physique looks a little frail.

I'm willing to bet were going to see all that, judging the cast of this movie. The whole origin but it is going to be edited differently than STM.

Actually, it wouldnt surprise me if this script is an improved version and VERY similar to JJ Abrams Superman with Krypton exploding and Lex with LexCorp and Zod instead of Ty-zor.

It does seem that way, unfortunately. I would have loved if they could do the 'origin' stuff in a second film and parallel it with the current plot...but the possibility of a second film is so up in the air that it's hard to plan and save this or that for it.

Or just 'Superman Begins'. :O

Perfect and what I wanted all along. And Kal, sorry to say that but your idea for Superman being a genetic experiment is terrible. HATE IT. No offense but Superman doesnt need that much of a drastic change.
