Oh, all right. Thanks.
Haven't heard this before, but it sounds promising. Having Zod in this movie is definitely a physical step up from real estate crooks and computer programmers!Apparently Superman gets his ass kicked like beyond belief in this film and barely is able to win except through trickery.

Indeed, speaking of which...
I haven't followed as much of Shannon's work as I have with the rest of the cast members' but based on what anyone here has seen of Michael's work, provided that Zod is characterized well in this film, do you guys think that he's capable of giving fans and audiences our first full on intimidating and menacing villain for Superman on the big screen?
I hope so hero, but I do get nervous that if Michael steals the show as Zod...then who will be even more of a threat to Superman if we get a sequel or sequels?.....how does Wb raise the stakes?
Oh yes. It's because of his roles that Michael Shannon just kind of terrifies me in general, even though by all accounts he's a pretty chill guy in real life. The guy does the best Crazy Eyes, lol.Indeed, speaking of which...

Without question.

Well if I had any say in it:
1. MOS Sequel: Lex Luther and Brainiac
2. MOS Third Film: Darkseid! (I refuse to save this guy for a JLA film since the chances of a successful JLA film coming out within the next decade is about as small as Kristin Stewart's common sense)![]()

You wouldn't want to be alone in a room with Shannon, just put it like that. Because you might not be leaving said room.
I've been thinking lately that perhaps they could explore Zod in a different way than the usual "Caeser of Krypton" route that is the norm for the character.
What if they focused more on the human/kryptonian comparisons.
Now what if Zod isn't just this malevolent war monger, but rather an more Che Gauvera figure, who desperately tries to overthrow the scientific council of Krypton in order to give more power to the people? He and his followers get imprisoned in the phantom zone for countless years until finally he is released, and he discovers earth. Now think of the implications of finding mankind; these people look exactly like Kryptonians, and they have the same potential, yet humans are destroying themselves with war and pollution. Perhaps Zod tries to make up for his failing Krypton by helping lead mankind into a more prosperous future, but by doing so he tries taking over Earth and forcing them into it, tries imposing his own views on the humans while under the illusion that his actions are all for the greater good, saving them from themselves.
I think it'd be a great parallel between his own more tyrannical views and Superman's more peaceful "inspire them to become better" ideology.
hmmm........that could be interesting.
but then it may be viewed as a social/political commentary on big/overbearing government (Zod) vs encouraging self reliability (Superman).
it could be interesting if done right.........but I'd rather they not delve into "social/political messages" too much....
I actually wouldn't mind Brainiac being the villain for the second film while Lex gathers his strength for his part as the big bad of a third film, partially because I love the idea of superman's villains escalating...and then his most dangerous adversary turns out to be a mortal man.
Oh, and I'm pretty sure "Kneel before Zod!!" is originally from Superman II, though it has become the comic version's catch phrase.
Except you should never lower the stakes in a sequel, going from alien conquerors to corrupt business men is lowering the stakes.
Also is Zod the only villain in this movie? Is there any chance some other villain will show up? It be chance for a comic book villain besides Zod and Lex to make it to the screen by 2013.
