I would like the Eradicator if it's an origin film, and that's if they're definitely using an alien. Otherwise I would use Lex and either Parasite, Metallo, or Bizzaro as a punching buddies with hopefully some personality. If aliens are a must, Eradicator for the first, Braniac for the second, and Darkseid or Mongul for the third (though Darkseid would probably be better for a Justice League movie).

Ya know, a lot of people fail to see that a Bizzaro storyline could actually be a good prospect for something very deep. I could easily see parallels to a King Kong kind of misunderstood character. He's all alone, like Superman, and often confused on how the world works. Bizzaro isn't technically a bad person, but is often manipulated by the likes of Luthor and others. In the end, I can picture a touching moment where Bizzaro is dying from complications of his imperfect creation, and in that moment, he finds Superman unwilling to give up on him, wanting him to survive, even after all the chaos that happened between them through the course of the film. Bizzaro's normal confusion fades, and for the first time in his short existence, he experiences a moment of clarity. He then declares Superman to be his only true friend (Something Luthor could've tricked him into thinking he was) and dies a sudden, but happy death.

I agree, when I said punching buddy with hopefully some personality I probably should have said punching buddy with some backstory instead. Luthor can be the main threat, but Bizarro would have his own storyline. Bizarro's storyline might even take up a good chunk of the film, with a final more lowkey shodown with Lex at the end when Superman learns for sure that Lex is behind the plot. Something like The Joker and Two Face in the Dark Knight, except switching it so the guy behind it all is the final enemy instead.

why no brainic steyin

Well, its not like I don't like the character, but honestly it feels like the obvious/cliche choice, and I'd rather they go down another road and save brainiac for the next film after the "reboot". Plus it feels like he's been shoved down our throats on Smallville this season.

ah ok steyin, i somewhat agree though brainiac would be a nice one to use.

Haven't we all got tired of Lex Luthor in all Superman Movies?!?

I mean, there are alot of other great Super Villains which can be used, so why waste them? I hope Singer will consider it, since he is a big Superman Fan!

So out of these 2 Villains - Brainiac & Metallo, who will you choose to appear along with Lex in the Reboot? Vote!;)

PS: Brainiac is my favorite Superman Villain, but for the start, I believe Metallo would fit well to the story and the introduction of Luthor! I want Brainiac in the second movie!

I'm guessing you didn't know, but there is already a thread on villians for the sequel

I searched, but sometimes the search function isn't working properly. My bad..

its prolly buried way back cause we've talked it to death. But yeah, we need a SUPERvillain with SUPERstrength so he can...ya know....actually fight??

Just so I can repeat myself before the thread is merged, no Lex Luthor in the reboot, atleast not on camera. Mention Lex and LexCorp off camera and set up for the sequel. The villian of this new origin story should be Braniac and Braniac alone, or possibly The Eradicator, and The Eradicator alone.

Already eleventeen threads on villians.

yea maybe it should be merged with the other villains thread(s)

Hell ya:woot:

Or use Kevin Krevioux as Doomsday. Know that Smallville is doing Doomsday using human version...

While Lobo on his own is entertaining, I fail to think of any plot with him in it that could be. Lobo's not the caliber of villain to be feared more than liked. He is no mastermind in any way, so there goes all hope for any kind of planetary threat. I like the character, but he is really no more than an intergalactic henchman.

yea he would more be like a minor threat/turned ally to maybe a bigger threat like mongul or something.

I'd love to see BRAINIAC, he is the best Alien Villain from Superman imo and my favorite!

So Brainiac FTW!

It'd be sweet if the franchise was solid, because I would like to see Darkseid once. Introduced in the first film as a shadowy character. Then in the second one, Superman does all he can to stop him from coming, at the end they fail, and he crosses over. Finally, in the third film the big fight; Earth versus Apokolipse, Superman versus Darkseid.

I know it will never happen, but it's something I would do if I were writing the movies.

Yea it could be tough to pull off.

Superman 1 : Metallo/John Corbin , Morgan Edge , brief appearance by Toyman

Superman 2 : Brainac , Zod and Doomsday (though he wouldn't be Zod's son as in SV)

Superman 3: Livewire, Parasite, Lex as the main villian pulling the strings

Livewire eh? That would certainly be much needed potential for sex appeal, not something I would do personally, but that's a good idea.

I'm clapping my hands. That would make for a helluva movie in the new franchise.
