Only 4 middle movies were better then this movie was. Empire Strikes Back, Temple Of Doom , L.O.T.R The Two Towers and X-2 X-Men United. This movie was not no oscar contender and its not suppose to be. This movie is for fun and the masses needed some fun at last. Besides X-3 which many didn't like that either. Some may not like this movie but who could really estimate how Pirates 3 would skip over Superman So easily and then over take X-3 in 9 days time. It took X-3 8 weeks to get were its at. Is it a as good as Rings no. Is it as good as Indiana or Star Wars No. But what it is is a fun flick for people who like pirates a completely dead genra. Its success is in its actors and the type of genra. Some guys may or may not like it but face it. The Pirates franchise has begun.

A movie being a fun movie and a movie being good??

Well, it just seems to me that people are making excuses, one of those excuses being "it's just meant to be a fun movie", whenever people like me and Erz point out flaws in the movie.

But your not necessarily pointing out flaws you giving your opinion on what you think the movie lacked. You might say that the film lacked depth I'd say it had more depth than I thought it would.

I don't care if you point out a few details and criticize, that's fine (in fact that's what 3/4 of the potc 2 review thread is and I respected that), but now it's just turned into nonstop whining. Guess what, you can't do anything about it, people liked it end of story. You thought it was flat, but about 100 million other people didn't. You didn't like it, that's your right, but the masses did and that's their right. Suddenly just because you don't like a film, it doesn't deserve the money it made.

Temple is Debatable.

Godfather 2 is excellent.

Toy Story 2, Shrek 2, Spiderman 2, Blade 2, Aliens, Terminator 2 all can be argued as superior to the original.

I think he was saying they are the only middle movies that are better middle movies in a franchise than DMC not that they were better than the originals in their respective franchise

And what about Terminator 2? It was one of the best sequels.

And the same I'd say about Aliens.

Besides, LOTR: TTT wasn't better than LOTR:TFOTR.

To me Alien and Aliens are pretty much on the same level...it was 3 and 4 that sucked big time.

I forgot about T-2 Judgement Day. I liked it best of the trilogy yes but i am probably the only one on her who liked T-3 i thaught it was ok. Is anyone looking forward to Indiana Jones 4, Jurassic Park 4, Die Hard 4, Rocky 6. You know the older movie series making a come back.

Rocky 6-yes,i think it looks like a fitting farewell to a classic

Die Hard 4-Yes i like Wiesmen and the script sounded promising

Why are they making another Rocky movie? Why?! I mean I like the first and second Rocky movies but how long has it been since Sly Stallone has been on the big screen as Rocky?

It almost the same thing as bringing back Sharon Stone for Basic Instinct 2.
