I like all of the movies. I haven't seen Black Pearl in a while so it's not really that fresh in my mind. AWE was good IMO, but unlike many, I really liked DMC! Davy Jones is the greatest CG character evah! There wasn't enough of him in AWE and the plot with him and Calypso went nowhere.

Edit: I also liked how the characters were much more mystical in the first two Pirate films. In the first film, the Curse of the Black Pearl was simply a legend that no one believes but was actually true. Same for Davy Jones in the second film, he was like this myth or legend and no one besides Pirates believe he's real. But in AWE, they had Jones out in day light, talking to the British Government, etc. I didn't like that. The fantasy elements should be kept apart from the normal characters of the real world.

I don't care for that DVD cover art. It is way to much blue and red, and looks like a christmas movie. It looks like the cover for a Disney cartoon, and it doesn't blend well with the other covers. I always wanted the cover to have greys, and smokey colors like the Jack poster, but with more characters on it.

Also, we don't get any deleted scenes according to the press release. Here is the specs for the 2-Disc DVD.

You guys seriously think that's a good cover? The idea is good, but all the pictures look like they are just slapped together (sorry graphic design major).

Yeah, the actors need a little fixing.

just a comment about how everything in the first two is like a pirate legend, and in 3 they are like real world dudes, I think that was just like Piracy comming to an end, in which we know look back at them as legends, AWE also showed that what Pirates considered as legends like DJ etc humans stopped being afraid of etc. I dunno just a thought, just kind of the direction of the trilogy I guess..

Oh good, you can look forward to an exciting career in typesetting.

BTW, most DVD covers look like **** these days.

At World's End:

Domestic: $306,888,712
+ Foreign: $644,484,000

= Worldwide: $951,372,712

I liked it a lot, but there were parts or characters that I didn't really see the need for. So a solid 7 is what it gets from me.

I'm probably in the rare camp on this one, but did anyone find their appreciation for the The Curse of the Black Pearl rise with the release of the sequels? And I don't mean you hated the sequels and it makes the original seem better.

I personally thought The Curse of the Black Pearl was enjoyable, but nothing great, but after seeing the superior sequels and going back and watching Black Pearl for the first time since, I'm loving it now. Yeah, I'm probably the only one.

Well, i have loved Curse ever since i first saw it, and though i enjoy the sequels, i still think Curse is easily the best of the 3. IMO the best scene in the entire trilogy is when Jack gets the Pearl back at the end.

I think DMC is like a 8 and AWE like a 9, but I still think Curse is leagues better than both

but, and I don't know this, but maybe when I would normally think Curse is a 9 the greatness of the sequels made it a 10, I don't know but possibley

Yeah, i still think Curse is the best, but i liked AWE a lot, DMC was okay, but nothing special IMO.

Oh I'm sorry did I upset you? So what if most of them look like ****, that's no excuse, this is Disney.

Does anyone know who is doing the Audio Commentary. Is it thw writers again o rmaybe a full cast commentary.

Big Loads of Treasure on the 'Pirates 3' DVD

The dvd hits Dec 4th, Extras there will include:

• Anatomy of a Scene: The Maelstrom -- The trilogy's climax gets a blow-by-blow treatment. (Sorry if that sounded vulgar.)
• Keith & the Captain -- Johnny Depp and Keith Richards behind the scenes. Should be a blast.
• Tale of the Multiple Jacks -- A breakdown of Depp's trippiest hallucinations since his last trip to Las Vegas.
• Hoist the Colors -- "Reveals the inspiration for the original composition." I'm not sure if that means the musical score or the production design.
• Masters of Design -- Ah, here we are: No less than five mini-documentaries covering five specific sections of the production design.
• Inside the Brethren Court -- A closer look at all the new pirates, from their outfits to their non-fictional counterparts.
• The Pirate Code: Revealed -- "Explores the pirate code and the history of piracy." Yeah, but it's a Disney DVD, so don't expect any gory details.
• The World of Chow Yun Fat -- The international star gets a featurette all his own.
• The Pirate Maestro: The Music of Hans Zimmer -- And here's the musical bit. Cool.
