NICE, although Bill Nighy as best villain???? maybe in DMC, but in AWE, the villain didnt seem to exist. it was Will Turner half the time, and Davy Jones and Beckett the other half...the villain was really the Dutchmen, not so much Davy and Beckett as it shoulda been.

Once again...the final battle shoulda been ONLY Jack and Davy. AFTER the fleet battle. Its THE POTC Character vs the Villain. i loved AWE, but after re doing the entire last hour of the movie, the final fight shoulda bee soooo much better.

I think the final fight was one of the best parts of movies this summer

but on your villain point, it is clearly Beckett

but outside of him, I think the point they where trying to illustrate, is even if Turner and Sparrow are the hero's, they are still Pirates, they are still criminals, Pirates are really cool in movies, but if one where to man your ship (I understand it is kind of a outdated thing, but for the sake of argument) you would want Beckett to do something about those pirates-so they're really aren't clear cut hero's and villains, just guys we root for, and not

the final fight was great, dont get me wrong...but its the climax of the entire trilogy, and the scene in the trailer that got EVERYONE going was Jack and Davy, rewatch the trailer and tell me thats not what you wanted to see...even the music playing during the trailer right when they start fighting, you think thats it! thats the final fight! but its really more of a sidenote.

im watching POTC3 right now, downloaded it off a torrent, in the maelstrom now, im wondering why they didnt focus on Jack VS Davy more? its what i wanted to see, and im sure other people wanted to see. id have the maelstrom scene the same except have Jack VS Davy near the end of it and have it MUCH more focused on, i mean people see the movie FOR JACK SPARROW. so why is his biggest fight not the main focus?

Because Jack isn't the main character. He's the most popular, but the main character of all the films has been Elizabeth, even though it doesn't seem like it.

not the main character....eh maybe...but the main focus of the fans, YES, HE MOST CERTAINLY IS. the fans went for jack sparrow. saying he isnt the 'main' character is one thing, but the final fight between him and jones woulda been MUCH, MUCH more talked about if it was focused on more, like fans expected....rewatch the trailer, you'll see what i mean. the music, the scene, everything is pointing towards a crazy battle between the 2.

Maybe another track with (sounds abit morbid) with the music that characters died to? Like 'Hello Beastie' the starting bit and the starting of 'I don't think Nows the Best Time'

I finally saw it today at the $2 show and I was not impressed. This should of never became a franchise. : Too many plots and too many new characters and characters who I couldn't remember from the previous films. Most of the plots in this film could of been used to make seperate films.

I need to watch again anyway.

I thought it would have been cooler if Clypso (what ever her name is lol) turned into a sea creature not tall, as she is the goddess of the sea.
Makes sense right.

i think the biggest problem (althought i love all 3 POTC movies) is satisfaction. it is damn near impossible to satisfy everyone. i feel like they did the best they could to do so, and the uncut extended movies (each over 3hours) are the epics everyone expected.

I think the best POTC sequel would have been to cut the fat off both movies and just make one 3 15 min epic that is literally floored with action

cause you could easily cut the cannibal island, brethren court, land of the dead down not nessecarily take them out, but they could be minamized

and then of course actually do something sweet with Calypso and the movie would be nearly perfect

I think it would'a been cooler if she was just a voodoo/witch something that could summon Calypso,instead of actually being her, and getting all giant and crabby, that was a tad corny

and then Tia Dalma and Davy's love would'a been more cooler, and tragic like

eh, theres way to much to just 'cut it down'. i see where everyone wants it to be shorter and get straight to the action, but id much rather see the FULL stories. the action and FX are just +'s.

well I don't know, on one hand I think the stories both turned out nicely, both movies work as solid counter parts I think as one story it works out real well.

however there is a lot of fluff in both movies, that could easily be cut down, maybe not enough where you could get one movie out, but certainly enough where you might be able to squeeze one kick ass movie out of

for instance

A. Cainnibal Island: Needed? yes Jack and Will need to meet up, does it need to be 20 minutes long? no
B. Land of the Dead: Needed? Yes, Jack dies they need to get him back. Even though the movie is called At World's End, it is hardly the point of the movie, could it be cut down? I think so
C. Brethren Court: Needed? Maybe, they band together to fight the EITC but they don't do anything, and nether does Calypso all scenes involving the Brethern court could be cut down (or made sweeter, that would be fine)
D. All action sequences: while all action sequences deliver and marvel, at the sacrifice for one concrete awesome movie, I think all the action sequences could be cut down just a tad each for the theatrical release
E. Liars Dice, Needed? yes, could it be cut down? yes
and finally..
F. Focus the movie more on Jack and Jones and that would cut most of the fat out anyways (considering a good portion of it revolves around Will and Liz


I like both movies, I think they both are about an 8, but I think they could be made one movie and be like a 9 or 10

The thing about Calypso is if you ganna make her big why not make her a demintional appearance of water. That type of siloette where you see sea creatures around thorugh her. I mean it would be more plausible if she is to make that malestrom if she was the ocean in her god form.
