No, Barbossa was not in the junior novel, but take note that the junior novel skimmed some stuff and even completely left out other stuff. Barbossa is indeed in the second movie, and plays a much larger role in the third movie.

And just to keep things interesting, here are the three main working titles for PotC3, as revealed by the Two T's:

World's End
Uncharted Waters
Calypso's Fury

Terry said in his latest blog entry that he was campaigning for Calypso's Fury, but since Disney shot that one down, he's now campaigning for World's End to be AT World's End. And I am in total agreement with him--love Calypso's Fury best, but if they must go with World's End, I prefer At World's End.

And I must say that PotC2's really reminding me of Empire Strikes Back.... That's the best comparison I can come up with; forget Matrix or even Back to the Future.

And I could say something about Blackbeard, but I won't. Gotta allow for SOME surprises...
