well could knightley be any more flat? same goes for bloom. There ws no power or presence. Bill nighy was the best acting wise. Depp gave an unfelt and simply bland performance, being completely predictable in all aspects. Fair enough they had soem bad writing, but they could of at least done something decent with it.

as in flatness of performance, the inadequete delivery etc, the lack of any substance or impact, very unconvincing.

I myself think Will and Elizabeths characters could be replaced. Kiera and Orlando are not playing roles that any actor or actress can't do if they did more. In my opinion the pivtal actors has always been in the films to me.
Johnny, Geoffrey, Kevin McNALLY And Pintel and Reghette. These actors made the films to me. So if the do more i say bring in newer blood.

Keira Kinghtley had one scene in the movie i thought was well acted, and thats the one where she describes to Sparrow that she believes he is a good man and will fall to curiosity.

Knightly and Bloom are fine, they aren't going to win any awards, but they where fine

Depp, Nighy, Mcnally, Davenport, Rush-those are 5 of the absolute best actors on the planet, some are more famous, and accomplised (Depp, Rush), some of them are on the up (Davenport, Nighy) and Mcnally is just a brilliant character actor

also the pirate movies benifet, from outstanding supporting casts, with Hollander, Stellen, and the guy that played Rigietti, and the girl who played Dalma

the acting is quite good

I got the POTC 2 DVD today as a late Christmas present.
It's the 2 disc special edition.
When I looked at the second disc, the subtitle was "The Curse of the Black Pearl".
That really threw me off. So I put it in the DVD player, and sure enough, it was the Second disc for Black Pearl.
Did this happen to anyone else?
How do I get the real second disc?

Easy just take back your dvd and get another one and if it happens again then ask for your money back and go to another store.

Did anyone see tonight on Movie Surfurs on the disney channel. It had a short preview about there up coming tv spots about the up coming disney movies. You saw a few quick scene's and [One had the scene of everyon rocking the Black Pearl. The asian Pirates and Jack saying to everyone. Did anyone come because they missed me. The full scenes will likely be aired around the release of Pirates 3 but it was cool to see a little something on it.

The 56 script pages were right about the Ship rocking thing but it did not have the Jack ranting part about the old crews motives.

Just take it back and ask for another one, they should allow you to return it.

the acting is quite good

Depp is arguably one of the best actors, as for the rest, whilst some are damn fine actors, especially Nighy(his stage stuff is great), there are a vast multitude of better actors, one of the finest young actors at the moment is Joseph Gordon-Levitt, if he goes into mainstream, he'll have awards falling out his ass! Vincent D'onofrio is also a fantastic actor, but whilst people like JOHN HURT are still around, these actors are gonna find themselves quite far down the pecking order. I suggest you watcha few decent films and then reconsider. Whilst it is conceivable that you find the film entertaining, you cannot claim the acting was anything special in any respects. Nighy was the best performacne in POTC2.

yes, I do wear a hat. And Jack davenport is an above average actor, but far from great, look at the fiasco called coupling, although he is one of the better things in POTC, he is far from being a 'great' actor. May I ask who else you consider a 'great' actor?
