"C'mon, say 'Moose and Squirrel!'" :D

I'm officially offended on behalf of Russians everywhere.

JMS stole that from "My Name is Earl" :o

I knew I heard that somewhere recently. To be fair, I've heard that joke lots of times before.

It would have been funny if Titanium Man had decked Spidey twice and said "Moose" and "Squirrel" after each one.

Hahaha, Doom fought his way out of Hell itself! I love it! :D

On the other hand, I'm really hoping that cover means one of three things:

1) It's a Doombot.
2) It's Doom himself, but it's one of those covers that has absolutely nothing to do with the material inside.
3) There's some kind of explanation that the destruction of Asgard and loss of the Odinpower has somehow weakened Mjolnir's enchantments enough that Doom could magically hotwire it somehow.

I'll be fine with any of those three explanations. Anything else and JMS incurs my wrath!

i agree with corp.

though asgard gone or not..the spell should last and only one worthy should be able to lift the uru hammer.

that being said, maybe fighting through the hordes of hell beating hell itself and getting back to topside...might just make him worthy of the warrior merit to lift mjolnir..

It's more than warrior merit. Remember why he was in Hell in the first place: he murdered the love of his life, made an infant his familiar, and sent a child to Hell. Thor got stripped of his worthiness for killing one man in a fit of rage who wasn't really even a man.

yep.
there will be an explaination for him lifting it...

i just hope its a good one.reed should be able to lift it though...surely he is well worthy..and captain america!

hell spidey too should be able to lift it.

but i'll be happy with thor coming back to relift it myself...

and thor give doom a damned good beating..

have at thee thy foul miscreant!!

maybe Doom's paid off his 'debt' by being in hell... praise Jesus his sins are forgiven. :)

SPIDER-MAN STOPS TO READ A MEMORIAL WHILE IN THE MIDDLE OF A FIGHT!? That's a move not even a Bat-sidekick is dumb enough to make. He deserves to lose now. :p

RUNAWAYS remains the juiciest preview for me, although FF doesn't look bad. I'm with Corp and hoping JMS has a feasible reason for Doom believing he could wield the power of Thor (and a reason that is not "because I am Doom". That barely works for Batman anymore. Y'know, "How'd you know how to install a piece of armor that could simultaneously block a supernova while breaking through that 12th level demonic seal?" "Because...I'M BATMAN!!")

That would actually be cool if it were played right. I could see Doom holding Mjolnir over his head and laughing maniacally about his cosmic loophole.

Why would one of Ultron's priorities be to give his son an enormous penis?

Okay, Doom kicking ass on the way out of hell. Very badass.
Spidey stopping to read the memorial. Stupid (not to mention not very subtly by JMS), but poignant.

JMS seems to do that every once in a while. I thought his 9/11 issue was very moving, especially the scene with Spidey and the kid who lost his father. But towards the end, it was plain that he was just delivering a message.

Some authors are very good at this, seamlessly weaving a current event, or viewpoint into a story. JMS seems to stop, tell you the "message", and then continue on with the story. A good editor (as if Marvel employs them) would point this out to him. What's the old axiom?: Show, don't tell.
