I know that Pyro dosen't need his hands but in the movieverse they seem to be essential in his pyromania. Could it be possible that Bobby just froze over John's hands in order to distract him? On the Marvel site it does state that if John's concentration is tampered with or if he just stops concentrating on his own the fire would die...

That's why Bobby had to knock him out, so he couldn't use his mind.

They cut out that one scene when Pyro was using his mind to start the campfire in X2. Maybe they felt it would confuse people? However, that scene wasn't very important. (I liked it though.)

If Pyro looses his focus on the fire he is controlling it can harm him.

Why would you guys think that Pyro lost his hands? Iceman simply froze Pyro's flame-throwers to stop him from creating more flames, and then knocked him out.

Which goes back to Pyro Tyranus' point about John losing his concentration. Instead of being free to control the fire around him, he was busy being amazed by the person made out of ice in front of him

I highly doubt Iceman would be cruel enough to freeze John's hands to the point where they had to be amputated or something. He's an X-Man, not an ass hole

If you fall down on a skating rink and smoke your forehead against the ice, you're going be knocked out. You're not going to have a brain freeze. Plus, how would a brain freeze amplify Pyro's powers?

... As in one or 2 X-comics, the got banged in the head ( one of the newx-mens) and got in a coma. When he was better... His power amplified. And Iceman's body is at least -100, able to withstand fire... so he cud've gotten a brainfreeze

Well, that sounds like the sort of thing that would occur in the comics. It's doubtful they'd put something into the movies as corny as "He's 100x more powerful because he got hit in the head." That's just ridiculous.

And Iceman's head was in contact with Pyro's for a fraction of a second. I'm not going to say it again, Iceman did not freeze Pyro's head.

Yeah. After Iceman was finished making John's hands dead and useless, he decided it was time to create ice crystals inside Pyro's brain.
