Age of Ultron The Official Quicksilver thread

lol? Next we're gonna hear Clark Duke is Sony's version of Quicksilver.

Johnson is a fine actor, but they can do better than that for Pietro - for sure. Still think Fox's choice of Peter's is the better one between the two.

We'll see if it's for sure or not...

Same. Shame that Johnson would likely have more to do, while Peters is, imo, more inspired casting.

But I do love Johnson, so I'm ok with this.

They do look like they could be twins. Now all we need is Chad Boseman as T'Challa.

It's the opposite for me. Johnson feels like inspired casting while Peters feels like another random, unfitting FOX casting choice.

Well, they certainly could pass for siblings.

i am all for this, as long as they get to keep their natural accents

^ You want Pietro to speak with an English accent and Wanda to speak with a thick Irish accent?

I could see Johnson as QS, although I'm a little weirded out after looking him up on Wikipedia and reading he's married to a woman who could easily be his mom.

Let the Battle of the Quicksilvers commence!

Just going by the look of the two actors alone, I'd say that this Aaron Johnson fellow fits the role better than Evan Peters, but we shall see.

What's weird about that?

I give Johnson props for bagging an older woman.

Anyway, it's a solid choice. Though I agree with JP. Peters will likely be given less to do. He's probably going to fulfill a limited role. The mutant with not a whole lot of lines who just shows off his powers. Hopefully I'm wrong though because I want to like both for their own reasons.

I support Johnson. He was great as John Lennon in Nowhere Boy.

Great casting. Marvel's choices are always interesting. And unlike DOFP, I know THIS Quicksilver will be more developed, and not used just to show off some powers.

If they do end up casting Aaron Johnson I can't wait to see him, as Quicksilver, interacting with RDJ/Tony Stark.

Well, he's certainly got the bad boy look down.

uhh.. pretty sure most, for sure the majority, of people who will be watching the Avengers 2 are not going to be concerned about Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch's heritage/ethnicity/where they were raised etc.. Just make em look cool, give whatever background you need to give to establish them in the MCU (bad guys turned good or whatever works for the movie) and have them be played well and everyone will be happy.
Just sayin', a little more diversity in Hollywood movies isn't a bad thing.

I think Johnson is a fine choice, but how could you say Peters feels like a random? Have you not seen American Horror Story? He put on two entirely different portrayals, and did a fantastic job. If anything, fox's casting is definitely more inspiring.

It isn't Fox's choice isn't inspiring, but based on the track record, no one is expecting much for the character beyond just a power showcase. Look at Ben Foster as Angel. Great casting choice. Was plastered all over the marketing. In the movie for 15 minutes.

How is marvel even going to promote the character even like on posters and such? They can't use the name "quicksilver". Is just "Pietro" going to be the name we see on the posters i guess?

I mean everybody in the media will be calling the character quicksilver but marvel actually risks being sued by fox for stepping on that name.

I don't think that's confirmed and is just a rumor. Whedon has mentioned them as Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver on every interview.

Until we get confirmation, probably best to consider it just a rumor.

Because he does feel random. Nothing about him makes me think he'd be a good choice for Quicksilver other than being a good actor. Aaron Johnson on the other hand, right off the bat, has the right look for the character and a natural Quicksilver type attitude. He's also European.

Yes I've seen it, and no I don't think he's an inspired choice in the slightest. Especially considering his role isn't even meant to be that big.
