Age of Ultron The Official Quicksilver thread

Plus, why would you even want Fox's X-Men franchise in the MCU at this point? They first need to fix up all of their continuity errors before they can do that.

Now we'll get some nerd telling us how easy it is to solve the littany of continuity problems.

Are we really discussing how you do Wanda and Pietro without a big emphasis on their origins? Extraordinary people existing in the MCU is firmly established.

Yeah and those "extroardinary people" have had their powers explained. Having said that since at Fox Quicksilver's powers are "mutant" then an A2 Quicksilver inevitably needs some other form of explanation. You can't just plot him out there as an empty character. It breaks from all the "explaining" you did for other heroes and villains unlike.

Hitfix ources close to Fox and Marvel gave him his info.

Oh I see, so the part about the sequence could have been all the source told him about what Singer wants to do with the character. Quicksilver could have a bigger role in DOFP than some are being lead to believe at the moment.

Exactly.

I have no problem with them becoming incorporated and actually saw this happening the second the details of the deal were released. There are areas to step over. And FOX is smart, they've been in business for a long time. And recently they've successfully relaunched X Men and Planet of the Apes. They wouldn't be running a company if they didn't know what they're doing.

Disney also recently went out of their way to acquire OSCORP TOWERS for AVENGERS. It was just too late into production to use it. That shows an interest to expanding the MCU heroes to those owned by other studios. Why make the OSCORP deal if they weren't interested?

Fox didn't just recently decide to put Quicksilver in the movie in order to spite Marvel (his inclusion was always intended by Singer).

However, they did announce now, after Marvel announce usage, to one up Marvel.

It's Singer's fault for waiting so late to announce Quicksilver. Now people will think that he put Pietro in just because Marvel's doing it, when that isn't the case.

you don't always need to an explanation. especially if some other studio explains it.

I'm not going to lose sleep over them not explaining it. In fact, I wish they would explain less in some of these movies

How do you know Pietro was planned before the Avengers?

They didn't relaunch X-Men as of yet. First Class is still a prequel and the point of Days of Future Past will be to tie things together and fix the continuity, even though they probably won't do a good job at that.

Also, like I said, you're going by the assumption that Fox is rational and smart enough to crossover with Marvel. Like I said, they're too stubborn to do that and has proven so based on how their attitude towards Marvel. Marvel already approached them and asked them if they could use Galactus and the Silver Surfer for the MCU (which Fox has the rights to). They didn't let them.

Your argument regarding the Oscorp Tower in Avengers is not a valid one. We are talking about Fox here, not Sony. Sony and Marvel already have a good relationship, as established by both Feige and the people at Sony. Marvel also owns the merchandising rights to the Spider-Man films that Sony makes. Thus it is no mystery why both would be ok with cameos like the Oscorp Tower appearing in the MCU.

Wanda goes by "Witch". Half the fun could be the mystery. Where their powers come from. Is it magic? Did they have freak accident? Did they get some superhero steroids?

The simple line "we're different" goes a long way. Hell, "our blood is different" works.

Oscorp Tower showing up would've been akin to how the Millenium Falcon showed up in Star Trek.

Oh well thank God screen writing is so simple.
You asked, and then don't like fairy simple, but clearly accurate ideas. :funny:

A pair of mysterious siblings need no explanation. That is why they are mysterious. Considering Joss' words, it makes more sense.

You mean "hollow" explanations written in haste for a fan forum argument.

The fact that a character like Quicksilver, not Wolverine, Spidey, F4 or Dr. Doom could be the origin of a public film studio spat is hilarious to me.

If you'd like me to flower them up, I could.

Play up their not knowing how they can do what they do. Feeling different, growing up in a harsh environment. Then at the end, make it not matter. They now have a place, a home, as Avengers.

Where does this idea come from that whoever uses the character first denies the other the rights to use them? Feige never said that.

"We both have them," Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige told SuperHeroHype of the character rights last summer. "There's a specific arrangement with those two characters that would allow us to use them with 'Avengers,' but not discuss or reference their mutant or Magneto-related lineage. They can use them as mutants and as Magneto's relatives, but cannot have anything to do with 'The Avengers.'"
