7 out of 10? wow... I guess you like this type of movies. Did you happen to rate Street Fighter The Movie 8 out of 10 by any means?

By the way, that geica or goice japanese site, doesnt mean the movie is rated 4 out of 5. It means its "want to see" its logical that people were expecting this movie, but after seeing this crap I bet they also felt insulted by this atrocity.

This movie CANT be defended. Those defending this are either on denial or have poor tastes. Im sorry but im being honest. Jump on me if you want.

I will say that it is not on par with spidey 1 or tranformers but! Its still above average and isnt all that bad. Im neither on denial or have poor tastes in movies. Most giving this movie a totally bad review is being to sentimental toward the manga, sorry im just being honest

Ok so i just saw the movie and honestly i dont understand all the hate. i sorta pride myself in being a pretty decent movie critic, this movie is far from crap. If i was to rate the movie as a whole i would give it a solid 3/5 stars. I am and was a big time dragonball/dbz fan but i made sure when i watched the movie to watch it as if i hated or new nothing of the anime/manga. With that being said it wasnt 100 percent to the story nor was it 90 percent but the source material and characters are pretty well told. If any one has any questions please ask away.

Im actually surprised how can anyone like this movie.

Characters pretty well told? You have to be kidding me.
-Can you tell me how did piccolo manage to escape from his prison?
-What happened to the oozaru that was with piccolo 2000 years ago when they imprisioned piccolo?
-what happened with the tournament? i mean, who won it? who else fought?
-was the whole purpose of the "1 minute long tournament" for mai to take chichi´s blood? so she could then sneak in in the temple to steal the dragon balls in disguise as chi chi?
-if so, how the hell did mai know chichi was going to be with goku and the rest of the guys with the dragon balls days before it actually happened, because if she went to the tournament just for that purpose she must have guessed chichi and the dragon balls were going to be in the same place at the same time at some point in the future... does mai have some sort of cristal ball or time machine to know these things before hand?
-who was mai in this movie? (I know in the manga/anime she was Pilaf henchwoman), and what was she doing with piccolo?
-why could mai shapeshift?
-why did they leave piccolo on the ground by himself after he gets beaten? wasnt he a big threat that tried to destroy the world?, he was left unconscious so then an asian woman healths him in the credits. Wtf?

I got many more questions about this atrocity of a movie.

I ask you these questions, maybe you saw a different version where all these questions and plot holes were explained. Im ready to hear your explanations. Thanks.

This movie explains nothing, character development is virtually non existend, things are just thrown in because they were in the manga, like the tournament that only lasts for one fight and that's it, inclusion of the worst hollywood clishes ever, action that barely tops Power Rangers.

This is not an average movie. Nor is it above average. I don't know why you think this such a film when you have not given any good explanation for all the technical and thematic issues we keep bringing up. This movie is just a mess. Your flimsy excuse that we're just blinded from love of the manga isn't a satisfactory response to our reasons why this film can't stand on its own. I'm really two steps behind from dark_b in believing that you're a troll.

enough plot holes to give the moon a new face lift, fight scenes chopped up so much i thought my eyes were bleeding, and acting so bland and dull that it would knock a clinically depressed patient out of depression.

complaining about how Goku's hair wasn't black is picking at the movie. acknowledging GLARINGLY obvious plot holes is just logic/common sense. them not showing how Piccolo escaped isn't exactly the same as them not showing how Spider-Man was able to afford his spiffy suit. Piccolo escaping from containment should have been a very important point of the plot but it's treated as an after thought.

It didn't go into the bare basics. No average viewer would be able to watch the movie and grasp what is going on. What is a Namek? What is Goku talking about? Destroying the world 2000 years ago? Oh, Piccolo destroyed the world 2000 years ago? Is Piccolo a Namek? So is Goku a Namek too? Why isn't he green too then? You can't introduce all these concepts and not explain them.

I guarantee you when the big reviews for this movie will come out all of them will say the plot is a mess. I don't even have to bet on it, it's a fact.

I just saw the film now.

And I gotta say it is poor! Not once was I hooked on the story. I ain't joking, I was a lot more entertained when I watched Epic Movie!

The action is shocking, the story is boring, the acting is pathetic, there is no character development and the characters are nothing like their anime/manga counterparts. The film fails on everything! Goku isn't Goku and Piccolo is so underused that they might have not even needed him in the film!

Just shocking!

And can someone who has seen the film in theatres tell me if the copy I watched that is dodgy or is it actually in the theatrical cut where there are some very obvious cuts. Like one I noticed was Goku never gets hit by Fuller's car. Is this in the film or just a poor copy I saw?

Except the Jokers' scars were supposed to be ambiguous to create mystery about him. It gets brought up repeatedly with a different explanation.

All Piccolo gets is a simple statement that he escaped from the jar or whatever. It is never explored again, there is no mystery built around it. Like dark_b said, it feels like a scene was deleted.

when did they say or how is it even possible to destroy the world 2000 years ago if it still exists. The never said what piccolo was or what goku was but then again come to think of it they never really say any of that in DRAGONBALL!!! If you know what you speak of then when did goku find out he was a saiyan? They dont tell ya, it leaves for mystery, ya know much like you find some new crazy twist in a sequel

The whole point about Joker is that his very existence is a mystery. You don't know his real name, where he came from and what made him crazy.

With Piccolo we know he's been imprisoned 2000 years ago and somehow he's just back. You'd think after he has been imprisoned, he'd been kept captive in a secret location that only the monks know of, keeping him guarded. No, he hast just been imprisoned in a container and then apparently been dumped in someone's backyard. Then the lid must have someday sprung open.

obviously you didn't watch the film because he gave 2 explanations of how he could've gotten those scars and he was even about to give a 3rd one near the end. the Joker even explained how he got that suit. regardless, the Joker's scars are nowhere near as important to the plot/story of the Dark Knight as Piccolo's escape from his imprisonment is to DB. hell....they even showed how Joker escaped from being captured in TDK, but we can't even get a simple explanation to how Piccolo escaped?? we're supposed to take that at face value and not question how he escaped AFTER 2,000 FRIKKIN YEARS???

taking things at face value without thinking or wondering about the underlying meanings or motivation is the very definition of 'sheep'.

There are a lot of plot holes. Like who is Mai? Why can she shapeshift?

And something else that I hated was the Kamehameha. Why did Roshi do those stupid hand movements to charge it up? And why is Goku about to cheat when practising? Goku shouldn't cheat, he will just try and try until he perfects it! And why is the Kamehameha so weak in the film?

Seriously, I kind of knew that the film isn't gonna be that good but Fox has just pissed all over Dragonball!
