Comics The Official ROGUE Discussion Thread

Just for the record, Can and I are NOT talking about #200 alone.

Not sure I dig the 'grieving over mommy scenario', though. See it happening, but I can't help but worry about Carey going overboard with the inevitable pity party. Oh well.
The 'grieving over mommy scenario' would be perfect for Rogue,
especially with the way she's been treating Mystique since she's
been on the team. It would make her regret not accepting
Raven's apologies while she was alive and it would also effect Rogue
mentally. What if the person Rogue kills is to avenge Mystique's death?
Man I can't wait for # 200 :woot:

When does it go on sale again?

I don't think Mystique's death really works all that much... I mean, most of the X-Men really wouldn't give a rat's ass about it, seeing as how she's tried to kill most of them over the years. It'd be like one big "Eh" from the majority of the characters.

Can't say I'm not hoping for it though. I really dislike the character as a whole.

Awww, seriously? I wouldn't want Mystique to die,
but if she did I think they would try to teach a lesson afterwards.
Villain or not, I'm sure some people like Raven :cwink:

i like mystique quite a bit, i dont want her to die. but it would be interesting considering how many people she wanted to kill for her cause

True, but I would be kinda sad for some strange reason.
I mean being a Rogue fan, I have read how Mystique has
done the most evil things to Rogue, but death? I dunno.

The Mystique death would pack a lot of omph if it's Gambit who kills her. Carey strikes me as someone who would like to do that to Rogue in order to explore the emotional impact it'd have on her and her relationship with Gambit (which he does like for some strange reason).

Wow, Can, guess we do agree on something.
I think that would nice if it happened :woot:

You still didn't gimmie my reward for scanning that Maurauders pic for you:csad:

I want you to repeat after me

"I don't hate Rogue, I just don't want her to date Gambit anymore.":oldrazz:

It has been implied somewhere I can't recall that Mystique will be killed. I don't like her but I'd still feel bad for Rogue's sake. They have a precarious relationship; Mystique took her in and loves her but at the same time has used her and tried to kill her.

Carey said he likes Gambit and Rogue together and not together. It doesn't make a difference to him. But I can't convince many people on the boards how Romy is fabulous and how I could love it.

Though I should hush up, I'd like to put a final word on the Antarctica thing. It wasn't the fault of either of them. Check out the French Quarter website at www.geocities.com/thefrenchquarter03/thefrenchquarter03, there's an awesome response to that mess. When I found out about it, it made no sense to me either.

I used to go to the French Quarter all the time back when I was a Romy fan (and by extension a Rogue fan).

AKA he'll turn Rogue into a - even moreso - tragedy queen. :woot:

*gets this vibe he'll be shooting for the sympathy card*

God I hope he doesn't overdo it. :wow:

Well, I can't say I wouldn't love to see Gambit finish off Mystique. She's given him one hell of a rough review over the years.

Ah, these classic "son-in-law offing mother-in-law in a fit of pique" scenarios never fail to entertain, do they? :woot:

Hey, we can dream, right?

Besides, since Mystique would undoubtedly return from the dead within a few years, it wouldn't make much of a difference in the long term.

I actually like that Carey
has brought back the cant touch aspect of Rogue. That has been lost for years and only seemed convenient when the writer decided to use it. I hate that he went to teh extreme with the insta-death, but she once again has limits. Too bad she's stuck with Sunfire's powers while this happened

Ah, the classic "Mother-in-law coming back from the dead to off murderous son-in-law" scenario. That one also has a few things going on for it. :woot:

And then Gambit can come back to avenge his own death in 2015...

:woot:

Nah, actually, the daughter/wife gets in the way during said battle and dies and...

Oh, wait, that's Can's fantasy, isn't it? :woot:

I wouldn't want Gambit to die for any period of time. I've missed him as it is.

I'm so sad you're not a Romy fan anymore, CanCan. How many years ago did you stop liking Rogue?:csad:

Rogue doesn't have insta-death anymore? That was a fast change.

About a month ago, actually. Stopped liking Romy somewhere in January.

Ever since BoA, I had been reading old issues and Romy, and Rogue, was *alot* less pleasant the second time around.

My guess would be the exact moment he realized Rogue wouldn't be allowed to get away with any of her tantrums if she were a guy. :wow:

Oh, I can't even begin to count the number of times she'd have gotten her ass kicked if she had been a guy.
