The Official Spider-Man 3 Video Game Thread with Trailer [merged 2x]

got the Wii version on friday and spent about 5 hours webslinging on saturday morning. it's slightly sad i've had it about 3 days and i'm only at about 17%, but i've had Zelda and not opened it yet so i'm just strange.

but yeh, i love the webslinging, but the camera controls suck beyond beleif:csad:

Well Gamer.TV just gave 360/PS3 versions 4/5 so IGN just may be really, really off.

IGN gave the PS2 version a 2.5 for graphics. WTF? The game cant look THAT bad. Im about to go to Blockbuster and rent and will post my impressions assuming they have the game in

What do I do for the picture mission where the armor is hanging from the helicopter? I can't figure out what to do. I tried webslinging onto it, but it doesn't work.

Okay, I think I'm gonna rescind my earlier comments. I just beat this game (after having purchased it only two days ago) and I feel empty. The replay value is nonexistant, and I really don't care enough about this "surprise" to collect all of the emblems and find out what it is. Not to mention they completely gutted the movie's story to the point that hardly any of the game's story makes any sense.

I would have oringally given this a 3.5 out of 5. At this point I think I'd actually change that to a 1.5 out of 5.

Just rented it for the PS2 and Im glad I rented it. I didnt play too much but the swinging sucked and the fighting was simplistic and uninspired. I think Spider-man 2 and SM1 are better. Granted I didnt play for too long so my opinions could change but thats my 1st impression. It just doesnt seem as fun

BTW, Hyper Venom, what version are you playing?

I'm playing the PS2 version. I had wondered if maybe it was just that the next gen versions were better than the PS2 one, but from what I've been hearing the game's a disappointment no matter which system you bought it for. This is going to take a four hour marathon of God of War 2 to get the bad taste of disappointment out of my mouth.

Does anyone have any tips for beating Kraven on the 360 version? Are there any hidden health tokens?

oh crap thats not good to hear. So I guess the PS2 version isnt gonna get any better? Oh well, at least I only spent 5 bucks on it instead of 40 + tax

Could someone post the voice cast. How many of the actors from the film reprise their role for the game?

Hold X and charge your punches.

A-HA!! THANK YOU!! You have NO idea how frustrating that was!

Also, to the people who say that the combat and swinging sucks after playing it for just a little bit, realize that as you go on beating missions and swinging more and more often, that you gain more fighting and swinging abilities that add up as you go on. Yes the game starts off with very basic swinging and fighting controls, but it DOES get much better as time goes on.

For example, my latest upgrade was learning how to shoot web balls at enemies.

If, after a good handful of upgrades to your swinging and fighting, you still are underwhelmed, that's cool, but please don't judge either mechanic before you actually upgrade it a good bit. You may find yourself pushing aside a game too early that you may otherwise have really enjoyed!

I for one am still enjoying this game greatly! My only complaint is the lack of target lock-on which makes it very hard to follow people sometimes and especially to land on a moving target. But the incredible use of the spider-sense in this game more than makes up for that disappointment!

...and I STILL don't even have the symbiote yet!

Once you get it, it gets a lot more fun. Animations change and he jumps higher and swings faster, plus it just looks cool. I've enjoyed the game so far, it feels like Spider-man.

I saw the PS2 version in the shops and my jaw hit the floor. I was just so shocked at how bad the graphics were, Spider-man 2 had better graphics, maybe even Spider-man 1 (I've not played in a while so maybe not).

Spider-man 1 had better graphics than Spider-man 2.

Man Kraven is a royal pain in the ass. Ya just gotta dodge all his attack then unleas symbiotic hell. The in the second stg, ya gotta do the same thing. Fight some of the lizrds to get ur rage meter up then turn your attentions to Kraven. I used the ground slam move, the one where Spidey leaps into the air and slams into the ground causing like a mini earthquake.

I thnk the game is pretty damn good, tho im not crazy about the swingin and some of the battles are "cheap hard".

What the hell is with all the mediocre reviews??? It's like spidey 2, which the critics love, with better combat, city, story, villains, and pretty much everything else improved.....

Man, I am getting sick and tired of critics.

Dragon Tail Part 4 - The statues, fighting in the warehouse thing, I can't beat this. I get to the part where the boss sends his 4 elite guys, and they own me.

Arsenic Candy - The museum, protecting those lame dinosaur bones, its impossible. I almost broke my controller...almost.

Any tips???

Question for those already finished the game. What happens once you finish? ie. I particularly like the crime fighting element of the game but once you've finished is all crime stopped or can you continue free roam and random crimes continue to pop up??

the game is worst than Spider-man 2. I think the reviews are valid

Random crimes still happens, even at 100 percent.

Man for the Arsenic Candy, ya jus gotta be quick(be like Spidey). Take out the girls that are on the balconies, they are the biggest threat.

Maybe for PS2 and Wii, not for the PS3 and 360. After i fought Fisk, i was sure that the reviewer on Ign.com was a dumbass. He said it took him almost an hour to beat Fisk, i took him down in less than 10 min, it was a kick ass boss battle.

Can you ever make a post where you don't bad mouth the Wii?
