Hellion was disowned by his parents. Jubilee's rolling in it, though.

But for the most part, Warren's funding the X-Men through a charity for mutants that he founded. Also, T'Challa made a sizable donation at Storm's request.

I thought since T'Challa ain't king he was broke. Was Jubilee's parents rich? didn't she live in a shopping mall after they died?

Why was Hellion disowned by his parents?

Emma used to bankrole Generation X. Don't know what Sunspot does with his money.

I thought since T'Challa ain't king he was broke.

This was back when he was king, he and Storm were recently married, and about 5 minutes after the X-Men moved to San Francisco. T'Challa made a donation to Mutantes Sans Frontieres (Warren's charity group), and Ro said she had to monitor her husband's investment as an excuse to rejoin the X-Men part time.

Was Jubilee's parents rich? didn't she live in a shopping mall after they died?

Jubilee lived in Beverley Hills originally, which is a very expensive area. Her parents were loaded. I imagine she didn't get ahold of their money because she just ran away from home after their deaths. Years later (after Gen X), Jubilee went back to LA to discover her aunt was using her parents' money. Her aunt soon died, and now Jubilee has all of her family's money.

Why was Hellion disowned by his parents?

They never explained why Hellion's parents hated him, but they always gave him a hard time for no reason. In the New X-Men: Hellions miniseries, they complained about why he wasn't living up to his older brother's example.

After Messiah Complex, Hellion went back to his family's mansion, only to discover they had moved away and didn't tell him where. As far as I know, he hasn't been in contact with them.

Last time I saw Sunspot use his money was when he and Dani were mentoring the Young X-Men.

He only lost his title recently. He's been married to Storm for years now and I presume made that donation prior to the events of Doomwar

Jubilee's parents were wealthy. After they died, she was sent to an orphange but ran away and lived in a mall for a while until she linked up with the X-men. I dont know if she ever inherited or ended up acquiring any money.

As for Hellion, his parents reworked their will bc he was too flashy with his powers. They wanted him to learn how to use them but to keep them hidden, not flaunt the fact that he was a mutant. They felt he was irresponsible and the trouble he was getting himself into an embarassment to the family. He chose to stick with the school and the Hellions rather than change and go into business like his brother

With Hellion, I don't see why they didn't just go with the standard, "Sons a dirty, filthy, mutie! Disown him!"

Hellion's parents were only rich because they'd made a faustian deal with a mutant in the first place.

I dont believe Kingmaker was ever stated to be a mutant or not.

Please, it was a pre-Decimation post-90's X-Men story. The slightly sinister dude with the gnarly powers was always a mutant by default.

He's listed as a human on the Marvel wiki

Well color me surprised.

Yeah its been a while but he didnt actually have any powers. He displayed some stuff in the 4th issue of the Hellions mini but he explained that his clientale gave him amazing technology. The forcefield he had, was activated when he pressed a button on his watch and his optic blasts came when he pressed one on his glasses. The team was able to defeat him only after they managed to knock his devices off of him

How was Silent War? I know it comes before War of Kings but I've already ready War of Kings but curious if it is worth picking up. My knowledge of the Cosmic MU characters is very small and I really enjoyed War of Kings. The main nudge to read that was I just love Blackbolt.

So curious if I should check out Silent War since it is centered around The Inhumans.

I enjoyed it, though the art was a little jarring in places. The end left you hanging a bit and was tied up a little in later comics but it was still a good series worth the read.

If you haven't read it, I highly recommend Paul Jenkins's 12 issue Inhumans mini. Fantastic read.

Haha, stupid Spider-Man. He took away his own spider-sense. :o
Well he did sell his marriage to the devil so other acts of idiocy were bound to happen.

Nope. He riding solo, also minus his powers and having to use mythical weapons to replicate them.
Heh. Wonder how long that'll last...

That sounds as dumb as BP taking over for DD in Hell's Kitchen.

Besides, I've always thought Vegas would be Herc's kinda town. :o

So I really like the Marvel Universe, but I'm not totally up on recent events, and would like to give some support to the print comics industry. What are the best titles right now to subscribe to? Spider-Man and the Hulk are probably my favorite characters, if either of them are having particularly good stories.

Where did you leave off? As in, what was going on when you last was into comics? We can start from there.
