I'll echo the Slott's Mighty Avengers and Avengers: The Initiative recommendations. Also, if you're looking for Hulk stuff in general, I'd say stick with Planet Hulk. Great story with terrible follow-ups.

I thought you liked the Skaar stuff?

is there a specific order to read the Daredevil: the Devil Inside and Out TPB's. (Born Again, Man Without Fear, Devil etc.)

Also anyone know any good DD reads recently?

Just finished reading House of M in Trade Paper Back for the first time (I'm just catching up to modern X-comics.)

I read House of M 1-8, Wolverine 33-35, Black Panther 7, The Pulse 10, Captain America 10 and as prequel, House of M Avengers.

My question is, where is the little girl Layla introduced? I figured it would be in the main House of M series but she just sorta pops up out of nowhere and a we find out Cage has already had his eyes partly opened. Is her presence fleshed out somewhere? or was it just sloppy writing?

She was created in the main House of M series. Her being fleshed out (And improved upon to become an actual good character) came later, in PAD's X-Factor.

But in the confines of the House of M story and its tie-ins, shes introduced only by Luke Cage's throw away line "Yesterday that girl walked up to me out of the blue and said exactly what you just said."

Is that seriously it? This game changing character just pops up? I know they talk about how she was looking for Daredevil and found Cage first, but shouldn't they SHOW us that?

Eh. I had no problem with it. I mean, this was Bendis. Mr. Decompression. If he had gone into Layla, that event woulda ballooned to 18 issues. :o

She's a Dues ex Machina character. Her soul purpose was to move the plot along.

That is what I figured.

The problem with recent DD reads is they all flow one into the next. If you haven't already read it, I'd suggest starting at Daredevil (vol. 2) #26, which was the beginning of Bendis's run and just move on to current. Bendis's run was phenominal and Brubaker's was just as good. Then Diggle took over (the current writer) and it's not been quite as good but still enjoyable.

I think Bendis's first TPB is called Underboss but I could be wrong.

Have you liked it at all since Skaar came into the core Incredible Hulk book? I've found it to be great, though it peaked at the Hulk vs Skaar battle.

I liked Skaar and Banner. Then the story started merging with Loeb's s*** and I dropped it because I refuse to reward that guy's nonsense with my money.

You didn't need any of the Loeb issues. The Pak issues read well on their own and he fills you in on the Loeb issues as you need it. The only real issue you needed that wasn't Pak's was the lead-in and it was written by Parker.
If you don't care about seeing what Red Hulk is doing then you won't be missing anything.

Of course, when World War Hulks was finished you get A-Bomb and Red She-Hulk but they're decent when written by Pak.

Everything about Red She-Hulk annoys me. Betty had a great death. No need to undo it, especially not to make her a b****y *****ebag who seemingly hates Bruce, and Bruce should definitely not be spending half his time chasing after her like a lovesick puppy. Bring back Caiera instead, damn it! :cmad:

Anyway, I'm reading She-Hulks now and I'll try the "Skaar in the Savage Land" thing coming up. But I don't really feel a need to go back and catch up on all the Hulk(s) stuff.

I'm definately getting Skaar's new mini and I've only recently got a couple issues of the All New Savage She-Hulk mini and it seems pretty good. I may go back and finish that and get the She-Hulks mini that's out now.

And while the Fall of the Hulks wasn't fantastic and World War Hulks was about the same, the final issue of it that had the long awaited Hulk/Skaar firght was probably the best issue of the entire run. The Dark Son arc was good but not amazing. The Chaos War tie-in was really good I thought. All in all I think Incredible Hulks is one of the titles I enjoy most in a month.

And Red She-Hulk doesn't bother me any because the first issue I've ever read regularly of Hulk was the first issue of Banner & Son due to Skaar jumping over there. I read Skaar due to it being semi-cosmic, and I'm a big cosmic fan. I then read some Loeb on backstory to figure out what the deal was with the Red Hulk and I went on from there. I did read World War Hulk but that was prior to any of this and I wasn't a Hulk fan at the time. I'm yet to read Planet Hulk.

And yeah, I don't even know anything about how Betty died. I'm sure it's been recapped in an issue somewhere but I don't remember. So to me, her coming back is nothing big.

What is the current Origin for Tony Stark because if he still fought in Vietnam he looks damn good.

The whole getting kidnapped by terrorists and getting his heart f**ked up happened in Afghanistan now, though not necessarily during the current war. (Cuz you know, there's always something going down in the Middle East.)

Well that is just dumb. So his heart (even with all his power and technology) is still in danger? Really?

Oh yea, I've always wondered, what the heck is that studded band on Taskmaster's (classic or MvC costume) left leg?

Is Spiderman an X-man now?

yeah that "We Are X-Men" campaign with all those random characters was pretty lame.

Ok I saw the cover in previews and was like WTF?

It wasn't for a long time. He fixed himself permanently a while back. But since "World's Most Wanted," he needs an ARC reactor to power... something or other as part of his reboot process to get his mind back and make his body recover from the then-failing Extremis virus.

Wow, lot has happened to Iron Man. Was all this written well?
