yeah that "We Are X-Men" campaign with all those random characters was pretty lame.

Yeah, apparently the non-X-Men were just characters that are in future arcs. Blade was in the vampire arc with Jubilee. Spider-Man's in the newest arc. I'm curious when Nate Grey and the new She-Hulk are going to show up. Elektra though, I couldn't care less.

It's false advertising is what it is. Neither Blade nor Spider-Man were X-Men at all. Also, Blade's story arc sucked ass. I demand a refund! :cmad:

You bought X-Men comics. You got what you deserved. :o

Wait Nate Grey(x-man) is back in the fold?

Yeah, his body just spontaneously reconstructed itself.

Like Doctor Manhattan with less glowing blue penis?

And a lot more babbling

Is he still an Earth shaman or whatever?

He still has that look that he had when he was last seen, which was in the custody of Osborn when he was still in charge, but I can't remember if that was discussed.

Depending on the circumstances, everybody is a match for anybody.

Wheat cakes to distract, frying pan to the back of the head.

It could work.

And actually, didn't Deadpool and Omega Red fight in DP's first mini? I've never actually read it but I was thinking they did. Maybe even during his first ongoing. I've never really followed Deadpool save for spirts here and there so I'm not sure.

I Beta Ray Bill: God Hunter worth reading?

Absolutely. But it might help to read Stormbreaker: The Saga of Beta Ray Bill and Secret Invasion: Thor first, if you haven't already.

Okay. I admit to being behind with both Secret Invasion and Siege since I wasn't sure whether or not they were worth reading. You know how exhausting those big event stories are.

Can Thor: Siege and Thor: Seige Aftermath be read by themselves without needing the rest of the Siege saga?

The X-Men seem to be a bit of a mess these days. Are there any current X-books worth looking into?

Yep, Thor: Siege and Thor: Siege Aftermath are their own stories. Siege was pretty self-contained.

Secret Invasion: Thor can be read by itself, too. It's only a tie-in in the sense that Skrulls are attacking the Asgardians just like everyone else.

X-Factor is great to me, but it's a pretty atypical X-book. The rest of the X-Men line can suck it, as far as I'm concerned. All the characters are jerks now.

So there's no real dfference between 616 X-Men and Ultimate(s) X-Men? :cwink: Yeah, I think I'll stick to those older X-Men trade paperbacks I may have missed the first time around.

So it's X-Men: The Shattering, then the Twelve, and then X-Men Vs. Apocalypse: Ages of Apocalypse (not Age but Ages), right? Was there anything essential to read before reading the Shattering?

Has there ever been an unbiased Hulk/Thor fight? Ever? Anywhere?

im in the quiet minority whose enjoying Uncanny X-Men but as you can hear from everyone else it might not be your cup of tea. i can though with confidence recommend Uncanny X-Force. its only 4 issues in so itll be easy to catch up, and totally worth it.

Uncanny X-force and X-23 are the two best X books as far as Im concerned. Both very well written

Yes on the order. And yes, there's some prereading that is important, one arc only, but I don't think it was ever collected: It crossed over between Uncanny X-Men 369-370 and X-Men 88-90. I think it starts as if it's already running but it's starting from something that happens on the very last page of the previous issue that has nothing to do with the rest of that issue, so this is the best beginning. It also seems like it ends on a cliffhanger but the next issue does little with it and they just say they got out of it with nor problem on a side mention and the story continued into the last arc prior to the Shattering (which has nothing to do with the Shattering story itself and is skipable).

As for X-Men books worth reading right now... I'm not big on X-Factor but it's a decent read at least. Uncanny X-Force has been fantastic. X-23 has been interesting so far. I've personally enjoyed X-Men Legacy because I enjoy student books and there's a lot of the students in that one but most are bored of it from what I can tell.
