The Official Stupid Question Thread: Marvel Edition - Part 2

Does anyone else think that Stuart Immonen's females all look the same?

They look less alike than everybody Bagley draws. I swear, he only knows how to draw one face.

Seriously, I'd say the average comic artist has only one or two faces per gender. But that's usually enough, as most characters have enough differences in their hair styles and costumes to stop it from getting confusing.

LOL...Immonen is good enough. If you really want to see someone that recyles the same faces across everyone, look no further than Land. He gives them all the same facial expressions as well

That's because he goes back and traces his comics. Which were originally traces anyway.

AIM makes them. There was once a storyline in Fantastic Four that had a link between the Cube and the Beyonder and made the Cube out to be an infant form of a Beyonder or some wierd s**t. Every writer just ignored the story since.

Interesting. Maybe the story sucked but I would think that the cosmic cube coming from the Beyonder would make more sense than a bunch of crazy scientists building it.

I'm totally foggy on specifics so I could be way off. A longtime reader of FF would know better than me. I remember it was called Secret Wars III and was a giant sized issue. It was during the time period when Reed and Sue were both not on the team, possibly when Franklin was born. The FF lineup was Ben, She-Thing, Johnny and somebody else.

The Beyonder thing makes a little more sense to me too. I mean, how exactly would AIM have the technology to build a reality altering device? I know they have crazy tech, but that seems like a little too much.

Here we go, I found some info on wikipedia.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Cosmic_Cube

During a battle to stop A.I.M. from using the Cube once again, Captain America witnesses the Cube evolve into the entity called Kubik, which becomes a student of the Shaper of Worlds. Kubik returns to Earth when attracted by an anomaly possessing a fraction of its power, revealed to be the robot the Super Adaptoid. The Adaptoid uses its abilities to "copy" Kubik's abilities and banishes the entity, intent on creating a race in its own image. The Adaptoid, however, is tricked into shutting down by Captain America. Kubik returns and then removes the sliver of the original Cosmic Cube from the Adaptoid that gave the robot its abilities.

And here is the story I was talking about from FF vol1 #319:

Kubik also battles the renegade entity the Beyonder, and reveals to the entity and former Fantastic Four villain the Molecule Man that they are in fact both parts of an incomplete Cube, and convinces them to merge their powers. This forms a new being called Kosmos, who becomes the pupil of Kubik.

Which now makes no sense whatsoever cuz the Beyonder's a freakin' Inhuman all of a sudden.

That's good old Bendis hard at work f***ing up anything that comes before him. I just hope the jheri curled purple jumpsuit rockin pimp comes back as we all know and love him.

The .1issues are supposed to be good jumping on points for new readers and starts of new stories right? With that being the case, why is Venom 13.1 part 2 of a story thats thick in the middle of the action?

Basically, it seems like the story in Venom was supposed to be a crossover running through the other characters' comics too. But then X-23 and Ghost Rider got canned, so instead of keeping those series around just for the crossover, they went ahead and canceled them and retitled all the other parts of the crossover as Venom #13.whatever. It's awkward, but it's not really a big deal.

They should just replace the decimal point with a dollar sign because that's what the .1 issues are all about.

Could Magneto lift Mjölnir with his powers?

And Magneto has ****ed Iron Man up before right?
