She's only about as strong physically as any other Asgardian. Which means about 40 tons, but what she lacks in strength, she more than makes up for in skill.

Yeah, she's considered the second-best lady warrior in Asgard after Valkyrie. In fairness, though, Valkyrie's stronger than an average female Asgardian and even some male Asgardians. I don't think anything concrete's been set down, but I suspect the order in terms of strength is something like Thor, Odin, Heimdall, Volstagg, Tyr, Balder, Valkyrie, Hogunn, Fandral, Sif, everyone else.

Is Iceman still a teen or already an adult in the x-men comics?

In Avengers Academy they mentioned that Osborn found lots of kids all over the world with superpowers but the ones in the academy were the most dangerous and emotionally scarred. Now where did these kids get their powers? Are they all mutants too? If so why weren't they packed off to the Jean Grey School or wherever?

The Jean Grey School didnt exist when AA started

I don't think it was really ever gone into in depth by Gage. I think he was using that as a way to build the background for the characters.

He may have gone into it further during that point 1 issue where Jeremy Briggs was introduced but I don't think it will answer any of your questions specifically.

Does it matter? Mutants don't automatically have to be in the X-Men's school. However they got their powers, those powers manifested during Osborn's time in charge of the US' superhumans, so he got his hands on them.

Yeah, they got em the old fashioned way, bastards of super heroes/villains, fall into radioactive waste, aliens. That sorta thing.

I don't think there's ever been an established number. I've seen pics where he's been a room with almost 50 variations and pics where there's been damn near 100. It's probably better to count them by style and purpose at this point.

In that case I'd say he's got about 9 different kinds of styles for different occasions (space, underwater, Hulk Busting, Destroyer, then the Mark lines ect).

There's also that new black and white one but I dunno if that's even him. I don't read IIM.

I have a question(Keep in mind I don't really know the comics that well, although I really want to get into them. I'm more familiar with the animated series)

Ok, so why do people hate the X-Men/Mutants(as I've seen in TAS, Evolution, Wolverine & The X-Men) but praise people like the Avengers(EMH is a noted example) given that they all want the same thing(kinda)? Or does the distrust of mutants extends itself to other Superhumans hence Civil War?

This was never really explored for me as they've rarely put the X-Men and Avengers in the same room together in cartoons.

Sorry if my question is a little noobish.

The mutant race idea was spun out of the real life segregation/civil rights movement taking place back in the 50's-60's. Stan Lee wanted to make a sect of heroes that were despised and looked at as villains, while still being heroic.

The idea was expanded on more and more throughout the years and some mutants introduced were freakish looking in nature while heroes like the Avengers were more clear cut and backed by the government. The lines have recently been blurred heavily in the time leading to AvX. Chances of a flip flop in social status are pretty high.

Superhumans like the Fantastic Four or a majority of the Avengers are just ordinary people who either have extraordinary skills/weapons or something extraordinary happened to them. They're seen as normal people who became something amazing.

Mutants are what humanity is evolving into. Some think they threaten to replace humanity as the dominant species on the planet, and that breeds a lot of fear and hate. It's the same type of fear certain types of people have against immigrants coming in and taking over a country, or a fear of minority groups rising up and taking over.

Also, they aren't all that enamored with the Avengers and the FF either. Basically the people of the MU are *****e bags with short memory's........much like people in real life. :o

X-Men should pick up all mutants, like start standing there with learning disabled and such. Most mutations aren't cool laser eyes.

The X-men became a welcome haven to all mutants when they moved out west and Utopia housed all who wanted to join

Yeah but only if you got a cool power mutation. You don't see a bunch of kids with learning disorders and chernobyl babies over there. X-Men lost the high ground when they claimed to be a different species (which they aren't, if you can have a baby with a normal human then you're still a human) and decided they were homosuperiors.

Um no. ALL mutants were invited, not just those with "cool" powers

As far as being a separate species, humanity labeled them as such going way back in the early days

What about ex-mutants? Were they invited to Utopia? I always thought it seemed kind of odd that like 99% of the people who lost their powers on M-Day immediately just ditched the X-Men.

Scott offered ex mutants and their families sanctuary when he moved to SF. Moonstar is probably the most significant as she decided to become an active member despite having no powers

I wish they'd kept more of the ex-mutants around. Everyone other than Rictor, Moonstar, and Jubilee seemed to either regain their powers or fall off the face of the Earth.

Jubilee has dyscalculia.

Who the hell was left besides Ric, Dani, and Jubilee? Stacy and Slipstream? Do we really miss them?
