They pay you to get your doctorate so it'd actually be a means of income. But like Runaway said, it's usually time constraints due to having to save NYC every 6 mins

That makes sense.

I've got a question though. How is Carnage alive? I thought Sentry ripped him in half

Carnage's symbiot is so fully integrated into his body that it's connected to him on a cellular level, and he shares it's regenerative properties. That's a pseudoscience-y way of saying that he can heal really really well.

That what happened at first. The symbiote kept him alive even though his legs were severed. A lot of it was explained in the slew of Carnage mini series that they did over the last few years. They're all actually pretty good. In the recent one, Minimum Carnage, Kasady was presumably "killed" by Scarlet Spider but is technically brain dead while the Carnage symbiote keeps him alive. Kinda like a creepy version of life support.

Interesting. I finished the first issue of Superior Carnage and the last time I saw Kletus, he was in 2 pieces.

I'll get to readin  Has female Carnage already happened or is that yet to come?

So I was just watching the 90s X-Men animated series again, because I'm hyped for DOFP, I still never understood the point of Sentinals. I don't see how sending in giant robots solve the problem of mutants, especially if these robots are made of metal plus the added factor of doing more harm to the human populace.

Was there versions of sentinals which actually did more harm against the mutants in the comics? Like more specialized forms of sentinals that dealt with particular mutants?

What's going on with Rogue currently? Also does she have any good mini's?

She's on Uncanny Avengers and X-Men. She has control over her powers now. Her minis always do horribly.

For a decent Rogue-centric read, I'd recommend issues 7-12 of her ongoing that came out around 2006 or 2007. It was only 12 issues long and the first 6 issues sucked, but the second 6 were pretty decent. Other than that she was a huge focus in Mike Carey's later run of X-Men Legacy. It had its moments.

Sadly, everything else with Rogue's name in the title has sucked. She's a cool character but can't carry a title for the life of her.

I think the point in the sentinels is that they're tough for mutants to take down because they're big hunks of metal, expendable because there's no human law enforcer putting his/her life on the line, and downright intimidating for any mutant that sees one coming.

We've seen time traveling sentinels from the future that adjust their defenses and strategies based on the powers of the mutants attacking them. The Prime Sentinels were humans fitted with nanotech enhancements who were less likely to crush a crowd of innocent onlookers if they got knocked down.

They're also mass produced, which also helps outnumber 7 or 8 X-Men. You can only do so many fastball specials. :whatever:

The Squadron Supreme trade.

Be careful, it might not have aged well.

Also that dust up they had with the Avengers during Busiek's run, which you should read in it's entirety in the Avengers Assemble Trades.
Thank you.

Does the Marvel universe have a Book of the Dead/Necronomicon X Mortis?

how many humans have the means to apprehend and/or take down a super powered mutant on their own? You have to take into account that these were originally created in the 60s by those who hated and feared mutants and they were very technologically advance for the time. Since then they've been modified numerous times to make them more efficient and safe. There's been no less than 15 different models and that number rises with new stories

Thank you.

There was this but judging by the cover, you can already tell its outdated

Are Avengers: Earth's mightiest heroes and Avengers Assembled part of the same universe? When the later was announced they said it was going to be a follow up, However the wikia lists them as being part of different universes, and Assembled being in continuity with Ultimate Spider-Man and Hulk Agents of SMASH

8 out of the 12 people on that cover are back. That's ridiculous.

Which is kinda bulls**t in itself. Instead we got teen Jean and she seems worthless to me. I'd still rather have the real Jean with all the history and continuity attached.

She's not only worthless, but annoying.
LOL..at first I thought you were referring to Hope. Haha. I actually like teen Jean but Id rather have the real deal

it makes little sense. Marvel doesn't want her around bc of her convoluted history but throwing in some time travelling younger version who now has her memories and is forging relationships with her friends and allies is further convoluting things

I'd like to think that teen Jean will lead to the real Jean coming back but I thought the same about Hope and was thoroughly burned by Marvel. I stuck with them (X-Men) all through the Messiah Trilogy and AvX and ended up with a big, fat ZERO in terms of payoff.

These days I'm half into the line. I don't read Uncanny, got quickly bored by ANXM and WATXM has taken a nose dive in quality. X-Men is decent but doesn't look like it will ever be anything more than average. Uncanny X-Force has been interesting but Psylocke and Fantomex have been a major part of that and now it seems like they're going to move into the Bishop stuff....no thanks. I'm gonna try and hold out for the upcoming event and see if it improves things but I may be looking at dropping the entire line for the first time in forever until things get seriously shaken up.

That reminds me: I never got around to saying "I told you so" to the forum when the baby from Messiah Complex turned out not to be Jean.

I TOLD YOU SO

Eh, show me a link to the post when you said that, then I'll give a hoot. :o
