I really wish Peter David had snapped Quicksilver up for X-Factor again sometime. He did probably the best work with Pietro aside from Slott and the Skrull hoax.

Around Avengers #40 (by Busiek) Pietro said he'd gotten an upgrade and could now run from central Europe to New York and back in a short amount of time. He shredded his boots in the process.

I remember reading about how Galactus personifies the idea of random cosmic catastrophe, and that if he were to somehow be destroyed, another entity would have to rise up to occupy that position. In what story is this idea introduced? (Possibly his first appearance?)

No, that was a retcon.

I think it was revealed during the trial of Galactus.

So are Wolverine and Storm a couple now or did they just hook up to annoy Black Panther?

One of the last few issues is going to feature him with Polaris, and it will focus on their relationship and how they haven't really interacted much, even though they're half siblings.

Was Jubilee's vampirism cured? I am reading X-Men # 1 and am wondering how she is able to go outside without any complications. If it was cured, which comic was it in?

I have been staying the hell away from Age of Ultron. I just happened to stumble on this teaser.

So has AoU just become an all Wolverine event? I heard halfway through Tony Stark became the villain. Is that true? Is it even about Ultron anymore?

is loki alot less powerful in the movies than in the comics? i read once how he had a insane list of powers including super strenght and being able to telepathically force people to do his bidding from across space

in the movies hes shown a bit of both but not in the comic bookish way

same with thor. i read the comic book one could lift 80 tons. can the movie version even lift a volkswagen or would it him problems?

Asgardians, both movie and comic wise, all have super strength, speed, and durability. Thor is simply one of the strongest.....in both movies and the comics.

From what I can tell, movie Thor and comic Thor are about the same. And it's 100+ tons. He's nearly as strong as Superman. The only problem with the movie is that we haven't really seen him do any feats of strength in the movies. Flexing his power? Sure. Tossing around the Midgard Serpent? Not yet.

As far as Loki, he's a mage. One of the most powerful mages actually. So, that telepathic stuff you're talking about wasn't a power so much as it was a spell.

Actually, at one time they specifically said that mind control was one of the things Loki could not do. The way they are building everyone's powers up to ridiculous levels these days I would not be surprised that they have changed that. I believe that was true of all gods at one time. Actual control was one of the things that none of them could do.

Makes sense. Kinda defeats the purpose of getting people to worship you if you can simply force them to.

i got most of my info from a book with the powers of alot of the norse characters from 1996. it said thor could lift 80 tons making him one of the very strongest in the marvel universe.

i dont know why but he seems alot more...human and less powerful in the movies

it also said loki could plant suggestions into peoples heads from across worlds

Well, let me tell you, from 20 + years of comic experience, that book was wrong.

Hey what comic and Issue was Phil Coulson's first actual 616 appearance?

It was in Battle Scars. I didn't read it but I know it was a final issue reveal (issue 5 I think). He was in it prior but you didn't know it was Coulson the last issue. I think he went by Cheese or something silly like that.

In terms of physical stats, Loki is definitely on par with his comics counterpart. He actually seems a little more jacked, since they play up his physicality a lot more. He tossed Tony with enough force to shatter a window without any effort and he got shot in the chest with a machine gun without even flinching. And of course he got the **** beat out of him by The Hulk and didn't, you know, liquify.

Magic wise, though, he seems a little downplayed. All we've seen from him are illusions. No telekinesis, no hurling fireballs, no transforming things into other things. Just making people see stuff that isn't there.

Yeah Battle scars 6 I found it. Wasn't sure of the book title.

So how is Darkhawk doing? I haven't hear a thing about him since the end of WoK. Did they ever do anything about his hunting down the raptor jewel stuff?

He's in Avengers Arena. He was sort of killed in one of the issues when the amulet was ripped from his chest but they've made it clear he's considered MIA and not dead yet. Some kid from the Runaways has the amulet now and is the current Darkhawk.

And no, they've not done anything with the Raptors since Nova's title ended. I hate that because it was such a great storyline.

I just flipped through AA. It's a pretty bad read. Yet another BR/HG thing. Bleh.

Do Spider-man and the wasp eventually drop their "Spiders and Wasps are natural enemies" act? It kinda came out of nowhere in the old comics.
