The Official Stupid Question Thread: Marvel Edition - Part 4

Has there been a Hyperion Vs. The Sentry throw down yet?

Yes, in the current arc of Uncanny Avengers.

It's expected that he'll go back to being dead again when the story completes.

Well Sentry and Hyperion are both ersatz Superman analogues, and given Marvel's current fixation with having heroes, real and fake, hit each other they'd jump at the chance to put their Superman knock offs at each others throats.

So what's the Punisher been up to lately?

When did Thor kill Sentry? I see he was resurrected in Uncanny Avengers. The last I saw him was when he flew away into space when the X-Men fought Norman Osborn's Avengers.

I think it was during Siege or some other similarly unimpressive crossover. Bob (Sentry's human persona) took over and he temporarily turned himself into a powerless human. He then begged for the heroes to kill him.

It was Siege and let's face it.....it may have been an OK story at the time but compared to some of the crap that has been churned out since, it's stock has risen.

The lone exception has been Infinity, which has been the first event done right in a long while. Not even a bad ending issue can take that away from it IMO.

Can Beta Ray Bill even eat in his god form? He has his teeth in the front of his face and a huge hole on either side of his mouth.

You mean they haven't gotten rid of that stupid sharing a human body thing they saddled him with at the end of that awesome (up until that bit) mini?

Ugh, I was hoping they just forgot about that s**t.

To answer your question, he probably doesn't have to eat seeing as he's mostly a cybernetic being. But he's been like that more than he's been stuck as a human so I'd say he has a harder time eating as a human due to lack of practice.....not to mention peeing and pooping.

I lost interest in Hickman's Avengers so I stopped reading Infinity. The only book I've stuck with is New Avengers.

Infinity has good moments but is unnecessary and horribly conceived. It's loads better than Battle of the Atom and Age of Ultron, and I'd put it on par with Avengers vs. X-Men; but I think Secret Invasion and Siege (where Sentry died) were better. And it doesn't hold a candle to Annihilation or any of the DnA cosmic events.

What are some good trades focusing on Captain Britain?

Anything from the early Excalibur days (Claremont and Davis) or the really old Marvel UK stuff.

For something more recent, definitely Captain Britain and MI: 13.

The trade by Alan Moore is phenomenal. While I've not read it, that's followed up by a trade by Alan Davis. Captain Britain and MI: 13 was also really good.

I've read very few Marvel Now titles but I think there has been some great stuff. Young Avengers has been good at times, Hawkeye is brilliant, All New X-Men is brilliant.

So what is Wonder Man up to these days?

He's on the Uncanny Avengers team, but he's an active pacifist right now so he refuses to fight any of the bad guys actively.

The guy who can fight the Hulk to a standstill, is immortal and pretty much unkillable is the pacifist. Guy really needs to get his priorities straight.

He's basically an image consultant for the team, along with the Wasp. Although the Wasp actively fights people, and Wonder Man still tags along with the Unity Squad on missions.

Wonder Man being a pacifist is better than him being a raging lunatic I guess :o
