I'd have to re-read the Roy Thomas Ragnarok story, but the gods are essentially cyclical with a different version of the Norse Pantheon existing until Ragnarok wiped them out. The lone survivor of that version created Odin or something like that. Thor would have been created relatively soon after, but I can't recall the exact timeline. I could be wrong, but I want to say that Thomas wanted to make a Jesus parallel, so Thor would have been born somewhere around 1 AD.

Yeah that's the Eye of Odin story arc. I don't recall there being an actual date. The story happens in the Eternals Saga

I don't think there are. I think the closest was the John Carter of Mars Classics they did years ago

I was going to say Killraven, but I checked and apparently that was retconned so they were from somewhere else but went to Mars to stage the invasion of Earth.

hmm the last time I saw him was in the animated series of ether ultimate spider man or avengers assemble.

As to the comic's the one I mostly remember was his appearance in the X books when the Xbaby'as showed up and dazzler came to pick them up after ice man ,jean, gambit and bishop saved them on their day's off and she told them she was looking for long shot to tell something happened to their unborn child which was gonna hint at it being shatter star and the writer and editor's at marvel did that weird thing with all the married couples in marvel that weren't Reed and sue b to have be sepratedb causethey were younger and the writert prefered the bachlor life the character had inthe 80
s so they havetheexcue for love triangles . And the brodock's went missing for for bit and it just got weird til joe had storm get married black panther to get people off his back after that edict and stamen he said cause the up coming writers as he told newsarama , didn't like writing about married couples.



yeah. sorry about that. but that was the time period that happened in. I'm sure he turned up in other issues of comic's past that. but that seem's to be the period I remember . Since I was big X-men reader and worked for X-Men fan site Mutadis Mutandis that time. I'll look it up.

ok he show up in the shi 'ar galaxy and fought both thor's recently cause he shi' ar suddenly wanted to have war with the Asgardian's . yeah I remember hearing about this even and thought it was nonsensical. but every one been made war crazy in the MU .

He's currently in The Mighty Thor as part of the Asgard/Shi'ar War according to Marvel Wikia. Whether he's fought Hulk or Hercules requires more effort to find out, so I don't know, sorry.

Nope, RUNE-Thor destroyed him, basically turned Mangog into the winds as a gas with a wave of his hand

yeah well that's why I said he met both thor's and he's recently dealing with jane in the shi'ar war on Asgard currently. Mangog seem's to work for any that's seem 's based in space from mojo to now these deity's are telling to shi'ar to have with Asgard now.

hmm the only thing I know about where herc and his family are in involved with weapon are about that mace of his which is made of admantine the thing adamantium is named after but way more tuffer and only the Greek god's for now have access to that metal most details on zeus.

I've for gotten about but I know most of marvel earth deity's out side of Olympus listen to him. and got them all to stop imposing on earth and got odin to stop his war with the Celestial's and eternals

the mutant villain Gorgon has it . it looks like a katana cause both zeus and amatus went to the same forger. it must have been pre Hephaestus, I guess. for some reason he didn't use the greek god that usually makes their weapons which is also his son in the MU

It's a one-shot called Marvel Legacy. I think it's considerably older than 900 BC.

that part's true and as matt said . they have went to the ages of king arthor so this isn't a surprise. it's weird . but it's true. they've done this before many times now too. well the before christ thing unless you count ancient grease and the stone age among others.

I've heard One Million BC, so we're talking Homo Erectus here. Regardless, we're talking very early modern man. In some ways, this can make it more epic because it'll be about gods and eldritch heroes. In other ways, it's just a little too distant for me, given that it'll reportedly feature a Black Panther, an Iron Fist, and a Sorcerer Supreme.

I don't really know how I feel about Odin and other ancient deities being forced to fit into the Avengers framework, but hopefully Aaron keeps it true to character and "the Avengers of One Million BC" is just a catchy tagline.

It's probably connected to the way they're working out and explaining the Celestials in the MCU.
