The Official Stupid "Random Comics" Question Thread

They're new, they're new, and no because they're new.

Isn't that religious looking black guy in the group an established character? I seem to recall a superpowered priest of some sort who hung out with the Authority every now and then.

I don't know, maybe. I'm just making s*** up to see if Spoons'll believe me.

I do that about 75% of the time in the stupid questions threads.

It's our way of saying, "Look it up yourself, dummy." :)

But really, though, what's up with Invincible's costume? The October Image solicitations show him without any yellow on his costume all of a sudden.

During the storyline where The Authority were replaced by a bunch of government sponsored corporate tools, they had a super powered priest as a reserve member to appease the religious right.

Yup, that was the guy.

He's getting a costume change to coincide with the huge change in his status quo.

The U.S. Government would say so, but no.

[blackout]He recently found out that the government organization he had been working with was in fact employing various members of his rogues gallery. Mass Murderers, monster makers, you name it. He confronted the head of the organization, huge fight ensues, Vince quits, and pretty much everything he and his family had before is pretty much gone. Money, schooling for his little bro, his college tuition. So, that's the change. Guess he felt a different look was in order.[/blackout]

Huh. I gotta catch up on that shizzle. I hate being broke all the time.

Champaign tastes, catching rainwater in a bucket money.

I really dislike his new costume.

Isn't it Jim Lee designed or something?

It looks basically identical to his previous costume, only with goggles and no yellow...

I don't care. Probably get used to it after awhile.

I don't either. It's just kind of weird that a redesign would remain so close to the costume before it.

Hey has anyone here read any of The Last Man series? I haven't really got around to picking it up in the last couple of years. Some of my friends say it's while others say it's crap.

Y the Last man is freaking amazing.

But it's odd to read sometimes because it is one overarcing storyline, much like the Sandman was. So some of the trades/story arcs are amazing, and some are just okay. I honestly bought the first one....thought it was alright, and then didn't buy another for like a year and a half. Then I picked up Vol. 2 on a whim.....then vol 3 and 4 the next day....and so on.

It will be held in the same distinction as Sandman in 10 years. That's my opinion.

Is there an appreciation thread for Jack Kirby yet?
A thread to post his art and talk about it and him?

Where do I post to to talk about a misc. comic book movie idea?

Thanks.
While I'm here, is there a specific thread to post ideas for movies or should I start one?
I don't want to make anyone upset.

Hey I have a question about Y: The Last Man. I just finished Vol. 2 and I love it. Does it stay great for the next seven volumes or does it go down a notch each volume?

People have said it starts to fall off around volume seven, but i've enjoyed it all the way through so....it's up to you.
