tbf the marketing was awful for Edge of Tomorrow.
I barely knew it was released until it was almost out of the theaters. But it's a pretty awesome movie.

That's usually for art house films. Which recent blockbuster has that happened with?
I could care less about the RT score. People should judge the film on its own merits rather than be influenced so heavily by critics IMO.
I'm not saying fire the critics or anything crazy, but their opinions really should not count any more than each of ours.
I remember fanboys loving Pacific Rim and critics giving it good scores. But it Struggled with NA auadiences and got saved barely by China. I recall people being angry Grown Ups 2 beat it opening weekend.
WB became really unsure for a while if they where going to do a sequel or not until recently.
It's easier to believe that a massive conspiracy is the engine driving these disparate reviewers to dislike something you like or have a preexisting inclination towards. It's harder to accept that each (good) reviewer comes to their conclusion through a reasoned and individual process of critique. These are people who love and study movies. The only bias they should have is being against bad movies. Of course, the delineation between a good and bad movie is not always so clear cut but it's insane to think anyone would have a grudge against DC itself, let alone so many.
Also, the oft-used director's excuse that they "didn't make it for critics" is garbage. Movies, especially tent pole blockbusters, are made with the hopes that as many people will like them as possible, regardless of education or job title.
WB had a shocking play that year, letting MOS get sandwitched by WWZ and MU in the second weekend, while letting PR have the rest of summer with a late July release. PR also has good RT score with really poor acting, is acting not a criteria now?
Rotten Tomatoes does matter. It made me decide not to see this movie in theaters. Of course the movie could be great imo, but more likely it wont be worth of the ticket. I can use that money somewhere else. I'll watch the movie someday on Netflix or something.
I'd consider myself to be a superhero fan, but I'm actually not very interested in a movie with bad guys as main characters.
Yup, to ban Rotten Tomatoes, the site that doesnt review movies, the site that just compiles the reviews.....
Exactly right ive actually changed my mind i wont be seing this in theater ill wait till theres a good copy online or just wait till it shows up on cable or what not. Im sure im not the only one either these ratings do influence especially with ticket prices as high as they have ever been.
The cast will be OK.All RT did was made me book tickets for two showings, actually. I'm there to support the cast.
The cast will be OK.

Can't wait for the jokes about the Director's Cut Cinematic Universe.
Was that too soon? It was, wasn't it? Sorry. I'll wait until the news is released.
There are a lot of editing problems in this movie. Parts of the first act are chopped to hell and I had no idea what was going on.
