The Official Superman Thread - Part 1

Well, it's not really a revelation or anything, it's been known they wanted to do that for a long time. You could get bits and pieces of the Superman 2000 pitch on the web for awhile now.

I'm glad it didn't happen, of course. For various reasons.

The Larfleeze issue of Action Comics was :awesome:

Really want to know what the secret of the spheres is

It is so terrible that even Larfleeze does not want it

That could be a neat idea so long as they did not use it to get rid of the marriage to Lois

The team did decide to keep the marriage before they were booted. Although I think those are the best uses of Mxy and Brainiac I've seen in a long time. I hope Morrison revisits the characters if he ever gets around to writing his Superman stories.

Kenneth Rocafort covers ACTION #902

There are few better ways to start a workday than by posting a killer Action Comics cover. This one comes from the incredibly talented Kenneth Rocafort, whose issue #901 cover we showed off here a while back, and will be joining Paul Cornell to handle art duties on the series starting in ACTION COMICS #900.
Here are a few words about Kenneth Rocafort from Associate Editor Wil Moss:
“We knew we needed really powerful covers for a story as big as ‘Reign of Doomsday,’ but who could possibly fill those shoes? Enter Art Director Mark Chiarello, who drew our attention to the amazing artwork of Mr. Kenneth Rocafort. Once we saw it, we KNEW Kenneth was the perfect guy for these covers — an artist who could really hammer home how bombastic and brutal this ‘Reign of Doomsday’ story is gonna be!”
ACTION COMICS #902 hits stores in June.

Do not dig Doomsday but if anyone can make him interesting it has got to be Cornell

I do like the art. Maybe he'll take over the main book when Woods leaves, though Woods has been really regular.

Rocaforte drew that weird indie comic Paul Dini wrote that didn't actually star Zatanna but totally was about Zatanna, only a noirish, shooty-shooty version. His art was pretty good there, although he indulged in a lot of cheesecake/Imagey things.

What...

What is this.

Arab American Superhero. Trying to save the people that hate and fear him. SOP.

Arab American Superhero. Trying to save the people that hate and fear him. SOP.

I think the real questions here are will the internet blow it out of proportion in a bigot hate storm and will Fox News say something incredible stupid? I'm looking at you Nightrunner and Mass Effect porn debacle.

Look, I'm the biggest diversity apologist in this entire forum, and even I'm gonna say that looks like the dumbest **** I've ever seen.

From the creator of "Superman: Doesn't like Child Abuse!" comes the epic tale of "Racism: IS BAD!!"

Stracynski only wishes he could create a character as compelling as Nightrunner.

When on earth is Grounded going to finally finish? Didn't they say it was going to go for about 12 issues? Is it still going? It feels like it's been going on for 10 years.

The first and second issue of Grounded was okay than it started to just go down hill from there. I am just looking forward to this arc ending.
