He teams up with Braniac, Darkseid, and Zod, using them all as pawns in his master plan to have ALL THE CAKES.
But then Darkseid betrays the others and reveals his true purpose was to discover the elusive ANTI-CAKE EQUATION! He wants to destroy all cakes in the universe, leaving as many as zero tens! :wow:

Could be a random mini-series, one-shot, or back-up. I hoping it's Wednesday Comics 2.

Negative-four tens of Un-cake, the dark, broken mirror of cakeness.

Driving Lex and Superman into uneasy alliance for the sake of preserving the existence of all cakery!

Only this summer in Final Confectionary.

DC need to make this happen

I would buy **** out of this

This is clearly the best conversation ever on the Subject of the 40 Cakes bit.

That almost makes me wish Disney owned DC comics too. Almost.

That animation is kind of neat

Well done for a fan animation

Well, a fan animation... by a professional animator. But still pretty awesome. Disney should follow this guy's lead and put out some shorts for various Marvel characters.

very cool, but I still prefer the animation that DC normally goes with, still love the the Superman/Batman: Apokolips animation :)

I have been really disliking Grounded since Roberson took over. Yet another crappy issue this week.

I'm amazed that people are still bothering with Grounded, I couldn't get past the first two issues.

I gave up on Grounded long ago

Thought about buying the Roberson issues decided not to

What happened in this weeks issue

Yeah, but to be fair, you're whole reasoning for disliking that last issue was fairly off. Your whole thing was Superman being such a dick to Lois, though it was blatantly clear he was doing so under some mind control shenanigans, which is about the only way you can possibly get away with explaining him acting like he has.

This issue was actually pretty good, I thought. The whole Superman Squad stuff was quite fun, and there was some neat Morrison-ish ideas there, like the Superego, a being who battles evil on the level of ideas. It also served a much better defense and reasoning of why Superman's doing his power walk than we've seen thus far. I'm not sure how I feel about the Wonder Woman team-up, but I at least like some of the implications.

The only thing that bugged me was how shocked Superman seemed about the Superman Squad. I don't know how much time he's spent with them in the past, but come on, Supes has been to the future countless times that I didn't feel that jived well. However, it still could be the wonky mind controlling going on. Solid issue.

For cereal. But it's a common mentality in comics. People stick with terrible, terrible comics that they look back on with nothing but regret because they convince themselves it'll get better or they need an unbroken run or whatever.

I certainly liked this issue more than the last. The first half was really fun stuff (moreso than the second half), with the exception of the inconsistency you mentioned Tron Bonne involving Superman in the future. I too kept thinking, "why is Superman so surprised by this? Doesn't he visit the Legion often?"

Anyways, the Superman Squad was indeed cool. I want a series based on Superbatman.

by grounded standards, this was easily the best issue so far.

Wow, some of those Superman Squad members sounded like a joke:

- a solar system
- a good idea
- Superbatman

You know it's bad when a giant gorilla is the least ridiculous member of your team.
