As far as we know, it's just Kryptonian Ceremonial armor. The fact that it's armor has nothing to do with whether or not he can be hurt it's just, something from Krypton to wear.
That's subjective. This is true. Also true: his suit looks ugly in that pic.
I think they designed the suit first, saw that it looked like an armour, or at least not spandex and decided it to call it that. There is no need for an armour. They could have removed the obviously metallic pads on his boots and just said that its some highly durable kryptonian material.I could have sworn some DC exec said that the reboot Superman can be hurt and that's the reason for the armor suit. What I'm curious about is exactly how vulnerable he is.
It took me about 3 weeks to get used to the armored suit. The only thing I still have an issue with is the collar. The collar makes no sense, unless this Superman has an irrational fear of vampires or something.![]()

Nah, it's likely about Clark using his job as an advantage and leaking corrupt news about politicians and whantot. Clark Kent: Daily Leaks!
Wouldn't be the first time. He was a lot weaker in the post-Crisis reboot too. Experience tells us that he'll be back to normal in another ten years or so.
See, why couldn't the comic's new Kryptonian armor look like that? At least the seams on that costume seem to have some kind of coherent design aesthetic behind them.
Those seams are a mess if you ask me. They remind me of Venom, trying to wrap around him and cover him completely or something. Its a massive error that there is nothing to break up the blue in his midsection. It makes that bulge look even larger.See, why couldn't the comic's new Kryptonian armor look like that?
