the kind of person that mocks trunks on superheroes is not going to start reading comics because they're gone
You mean that people wont pick up comics if they find them cool and modern and interesting?

Poor Granov... All his work to update Ironman's look has been for naught. They were fine with the Silver Centurion Armor.

You really are misinformed about Thors powerlevel if you think Thor needs armor in combat-with mythical crestures or ortherwise.A quick check on wiki should let you know that Thor is arguable more powerful than superman. How on earth can Thor therefore need armor more than superman in combat
I'm in the firm belief that Superman can beat Thor. And yeah, I can see some mythical and cosmic creatures that Thor would probably be wise to have some armor with.

The last costume Superman wore honored his Kryptonina heritage-read Secret origins again.Superman wearing a costume that honors his kryptionan heritage has always been a part of the canon with the only exceptions being Byrnes incarnation .So arguing that Superman should not honor his heritage is moot piont because he always did.Its like arguing Krypton should not be a Doomed planet-its part of canon.
Superman's previous costume was made by Ma Kent. Asides from the \S/, almost all of Superman's costume honored his ties to Earth than his ties to Krypton. And the \S/ is more of a way for him to honor Jor-El who saved him from death as an infant than the entire culture of Krypton.

Making superheros look cooler either by removing trunks or giving them armor etc does attract new readers.Im proof of tht.I honestly never gave Thor a chance until he lost his classic cotume simply because I thought he looked stupid. Then the comics changed his cotume drastically and I was like whoaa okay let me give it a try-and that ledad me to read Jms phenemonel run.
The movie of Thor even went a step further by making Thor loose his silly looking helmet and it made him even more badass. If Thor can loose the helmet and make his armor incomplete ,I think Superman can loose the Trunks just fan
I'm going to refrain from commenting on most of what you said to avoid a total nerd rage geek out. But I will say that Superman's costume without the trunks looks bland and boring. Getting rid of the trunks works with Batman because he already has so much going on in his costume (the stylistic cape, the cowl, the gauntlets, the high tech utility belt, the Batsymbol, the armored look, etc.). With Superman on the other hand, his costume is just far to simplistic to where without the trunks to break up all that blue on the bodysuit, it just looks boring.

not even lois thinks trunkless superman is cool and interesting

she's banging some other guy

Bolded text can also be said for Superman(You cld say he needs armor against beings like Darkseid,Doomsday etc).
Back to the original piont you made. You said that Supermans invulnerability makes ridiculous for him to wear Armor.Thor posses the same level of invulnerability(and arguably more) and wears Armor on top of that and yet it is not ridiculous-actually adds a bad ass factor to him.I think if we took away out fan boy goggles and wed realize the same can work for Superman.
I disagree with Superman being stronger than Thor but i wont debate it-there lies a neverending war.

Ma kent designed Supermans previous costume after Kryptonian fashion-so it did honor supermans kryptonian heritage. It was the same in Birthright,Silver age Origin, and Golden age origin if im not mistaken.Thats practically all of Supermans origins save Byrnes. So Superman suit honoring kryptonian heritage is not anything new .

Im not sure what part of that post cld induce a nerdrage but ill pass.I agree that Supermans suit is bland without the trunks-hence the need for armored look. You even pionted out that the armored look is one of the reasons why the trunkless look works for Batman. And i think the red belt breaks up the belt just fine.
I think the real reason you miss the trunks isnt because the suit is bland and boring but because it is a change-something fans especially superman are against.Howver change can be good.It was good for Thor and can be good for Superman-provided we get a good writer of course(We need Mark waid)

Thor's armor is kind of s***ty. It's routinely portrayed getting torn off or incinerated or otherwise destroyed while his skin remains unbroken. Seems like he just wears it for looks more than anything else.

I'm personally in love with the Blue Collar Bruce Springsteen Superman that i'm not bothered with these trunk comments, it's just so cool that Superman goes with his everyday outfit to handle social issues like an every day man.

After reading the truth on why Perez left the Superman books I am truly pissed. His run was very good and it is a shame on how the treated him. As I said before IMO from a Superman stand point and relaunch stand point they should have all talked more with one another and worked things out before just moving forward. They should have done a complete full relaunch and should not let Grant Morrison just do what ever he pleases and leave everyone out of the loop on whats going on.

There's been some superheroes during the last decades that today looks fine losing the 1930-50:s "strongman trunks", and Batman is a great comparision here. But with Supes I'm with you all the way, I just think (IMHO that is of course) Superman looks bland without them trunks, be it looking outdated or not.

That little red stripe (yeah, the "belt"..) around his waist doesn't make up to all that blue that takes over completely. And of course that collar is just silly, I'm glad it seems like we at least don't have to see that stupidity on the screen in Cavill's version.

rags morales said that when he heard jim lee was redesigning superman's costume, he was like "s***, it's gonna have a collar isn't it?"

His run was sh/t.
A complete waste of time.

I don't know, between that preview and last month's scene with the Justice League, it seems like the new Superman is kind of a reckless idiot who applies overly simplistic solutions to complex problems without really considering all of the consequences. But who knows, maybe rebuilding a bunch of apartments with absolutely no construction experience and no consideration for the economy or the new development's effects on the overall community will somehow work out for the best.

I feel like using three thumbs up signs is obnoxious. One gets your point across perfectly adequately.

I believe that's what they're going for. :)
I figured. I just don't really know how much I like the reckless, f***-authority attitude taken to this extreme. He should still be Superman somewhere under all of that--the greatest superhero who ever lived. If the greatest can't figure out that destabilizing countries and personally rebuilding apartment buildings when he probably doesn't really know what he's doing isn't a good idea, what hope does any other hero in the DC universe have? :oldrazz:

Loved Action #11. The reality of a Superman without a personal life is something I've always wanted to explore. How the shirt thing started made for a neat side story, too.

But was that dudemeister telling the truth? I actually had been wondering where he got the shirts from.
