How about Lana Lang?

Well,.. Between the Humans,.. I prefered Lana to Lois because she honestly knew and loved Clark w/o being a ,.. wench for years like Lois.

Too bad that Clark didn't love her enough.

W/O knowing who actually exists in this reboot:
Compatible with Superman - In no particular order - Ignoring relationships from Previous DC Universe.
1. Wonder Woman
2. Power Girl
3. Wonder Girl (Donna)
4. Fairchild
5. Starfire
6. Zantanna
7. Maxima
8. Beautiful Dreamer
9. Rampage
10. Mary Marvel
11. Supergirl
12. Luma Lynai

Ignored women who are underage or over 100 years away via time travel.

I once asked at the store who would be better for Superman than Lois Lane,....

I wasn't serious and they knew it becauase I was a hater of lois for YEARS and they knew it.

The answers surprised me in how extreme they were:

1. Anyone (they were including same sex and animals folks)
2. ANY female with Superpowers, (They included borderliners like Canary and Manhunter.)
3. NO ONE - as in no female in the DC universe can step up to the plate and do as well as Lois.
4. No One Including Lois - Make Supes an Only like Captain Marvel.

What followed was the usual no holds / no quarter given hollerfest as each guy defended his position.

I was in the camp of Superpowered female of the durable set - maybe 7 to 12 women within the right age range who are tough enough to be paired with Superman.

Meh,.. I should start a thread - I wonder who should be with Superman in SHH's opinion if not Lois Lane.

Heh, careful about grouping same sex relationships and bestiality together.

Yeah, that's only acceptable to do with incest and beastiality at the moment. :o

Meh,.. I'm sure it wasn't meant that way - but they meant ANYONE. there was even talk (By Canon I can't see it) of Clark and Bruce ala the Authority.

Lois was a wench?
I was editing.

Throughout her existence in the DC Universe, Lois has exibited most of the characteristics that have most men running away. It really would take a Superman to tolerate her long term.

Maybe he's a pirate?

Oh and Superman and Power Girl would be really really wrong and just straight up weird.

Really?
Why?
(I'm not being Obtuse - Karen Star is not related to him, comes from an Alt universe of Krypton, and is more *ahem* mature than her Earth one counterpart.)

Yeah, that's only acceptable to do with incest and beastiality at the moment. :o

Meh,... no doubt.

.... One guy even said that Superman should "build" a woman.

Krypton did have extremely advanced cloning and cybernetic tech.

Superman could do much better than "Build a Bear workshop".

(Yes,.. I'm horrible - but the premier hero on the planet should NOT have the level of mundane drama a "lois" brings to the mix.)
:word:

Because she is related to and emotionally tied to a version of the exact same character she'd be dating in such a case. She will still view him as it was in past comics as some sort of family in a sense and not a lover.

I give her more credit. Besides - shrink studies show that most people LOOK for partners with the positive traits of their opposite parent. She may not have "daddy issues" but Clark would meet most if not all in what she would want in a life partner.:cwink:

More on bulding a woman,...
If this universe can "build" a superboy - it's not a stretch that a "SuperWoman" couldn't be maid to order.
(pun intended)

Supes likes a challenge. Lois challenged him. Strong willed woman, that works for some dudes. Superman would be one of them.

Not that it matters. This whole WW thing will only last for a short while, and eventually somebody's gonna put him back with Lois. Changes of this variety is always short term at best.

The thing that really gets me is that "Lana honestly knew and loved Clark"... since WHEN?

Gee, I'd rather Clark was with Lori rather than Lana.

.....Since always?
I guess I don't really view it in the same way. I didn't look at what Lana felt for Clark as real love at all. Obsession? Sure. She wanted his marriage to Lois destroyed.

So, essentially, Zatanna just makes up character motivation in her head. :o

Well, she did marry Pete Ross, then had a kid with him and named him Clark......

I found that incredibly creepy.

Bottom line, I've never been a Lana fan. Before she turned into a creepy stalker, I had no interest in her character. To each their own, really. Since I started reading, I never bought her supposed "love" for Clark, no matter what was written, because her actions told me otherwise.

One of the best Lana plots that was never followed up was in Superman/Batman "The search for Kryptonite". I would have loved to see them follow up on the ending.

Her being in charge of Lexcorp?

Hopw did that end anyway?

I appreciate Zantanna, Can't stand Lois,.. It IS possible to be a strong woman w/o being as reckless and short-sighted as Lois is written.

On topic: I remember stories - the last two versions of Superboy to Superman where the two grew close and w/o knowing how powerful he would become, Lana assumed that someday they would be married, have a farm and have a few dozen kids.
In both cases she was crushed to realize that Clark didn't feel the same way.

Meh,.. too bad they've bent her.
