What so there is time travel in superman..........i thought that was a joke:doh:

Wow when did dc start to hate superman that much, the reboot is not very friendly with him.

Ummmm, Supes traveled through time all the time dude. He's a Superhero.

Time travel is as classic a Superhero cliche as stopping a bank robbery or getting into a fight with another Superhero over a silly misunderstanding.

Sounds to me like you're just looking for an excuse to complain.....or you don't read a whole lot of superhero comics.

What?? damn it,i read some superman comics over the years but that he can do time travel is new to me, i didnt knew that.
But doesnt that confuse even more with timelines, physics ect?

See thats why i was actually excited for the reboot,it would have given the chance to get me more into superman than before but know im already confused enough with batman and the other heroes.

Time-travel isn't one of Superman's powers. He interacts with a group from the far future called "The Legion of Superheroes." They are a team from the 31st century inspired by Superman and his virtue.
The Legion possesses technology that allows them to travel to important moments in the past.
Superman himself doesn't travel without their assistance. I imagine he either gets involved with the Legion to help try to save Krypton or to save someone/thing important from Krypton.
Something similar happened in Smallville during season 7. Clark actually saves himself from Brainiac.
The point of the #0 issue was to establish character attributes of Jor-El and Lara as well as to shed light on the destruction of Krypton. Lately, DC writers have run with this strategy of "tease what is going on, but don't tell them... then do a giant exposition dump issues later that ties together most of the seemingly random bits!"
Grant Morrison hasn't helped with that.

Honestly, Mani-Man, if you're interested in Superman, the best place to start is with the first story-arc in Action Comics (Collected in "Superman and the Men of Steel" hardcover) and the first story-arc from Superman (collection coming in November, titled: "What Price, Tomorrow?).
The Action Comics Hardcover gives readers an introduction to the new Superman's understanding of Krypton, the Kents, and three big villains (Lex, Metallo, and Brainiac).
The first arc from Superman gives the scope of the new Superman's powers, the new Daily Planet, Jimmy & Lois, and the suit.

People will call me crazy for saying this, but (after the first 6 issues or so) Superman is the better ongoing title. We actually get to read about the character of Clark/Superman and how he works.
Action, recently, has been preoccupied with 5th-dimensional weirdness, feeling like a bit of a loveletter to days gone by. Morrison seems more taken with the idea of telling a really bizarre story than actually making a point.

I did my own colored version of the 0 issue suit just to comprehend what it might look like. I thought I would share...

I am not a colorist or anything, so if you don't like it, whatever. I also had a tough time deciding how to color the gray accents. All in all, I like it more than the New 52 Suit

Can you make the gray accents gold? Keep the grey shields on his hands and shoulders or make them gold too, please.

Rockafort (is that his name?) is really good. How have I not heard of him before the new 52?

also, great job on the recolorings, guys.

I am not sure the vision you have in your head when you ask for gold, like whether or not you wanted the gold accents to match the gold/yellow in the shield. or if you wanted the shields on his arms to be a flat gold or you wanted them to glow/shine like they originally did. but here you go

Personally I think gold is too flashy. I like it the way I had it before.

I like the way you did as well I just was curious how that would look. Thank you by the way, I think either color he looks cool.

Wow. I love it. DC please let Ken Rocafort draw Supes forever.

I agree with everyone about Ken Rocafort. He is probably my favorite artist right now after his Superman Annual Cover and Superman 0. He is pretty close with Jim Lee though.

Morrison wraps up his Action Comics run at 17, not 16. Which, including the 0, makes an even 18.

^ Good to hear. This way we know his wrap up won't be rushed.

People are questioning time travel in a Superman comic? Time traveling back to a pre-explosion Krypton has been a Superman comic book trope since the silver age.

I thought this issue was ok. Seems a bit overrated. People raving about the super parents. I liked them well enough but I like every version of Superman's parents for the most part. I don't see why people are so impressed though. This Jor-El & Lara don't really have anything on the ones from The Last Family of Krypton story IMO.

In terms of art I am a fan of Rocafort but the colorist on this completely let the dynamics of his art down. I think a better showcase of his art in a Superman comic is in the final arc Reign of Doomsday from the previous volume of Action Comics. Primarily because the coloring job is superior and makes his crazy sci-fi action set pieces in that story really pop. On the upside I really liked that the tone was consistent with Morrison's Krypton from AC.

Got Superman: Brainiac the other day for 5$. Also got Infinite Crisis and a HC Flashpoint both for 20$. Hellz yea!

Johns did a good job on that Brainiac story. I like it when writers find a way to unite a bunch of different interpretations of a character into one version that makes sense. Although Frank's redesign of Brainiac as a towering brute with shoulders as wide as a football field kind of sucked.

Still looks better than the New 52 Brainiac.

I honestly dont see the appeal in Superman braniac-it was just okay for me not a masterpiece braniac story-stll prfer Panic in the sky

Superman: Braniac was suppose to set off something for the Superman to mirror GL. However Johns left the Superman and everything went to hell. The whole New Krypton arc was suppose to be something epic according to Johns.

Eh, Rucka's run was pretty awesome.

Superman wasn't in his run, though. :o
