Issues looks good.Lois is better characterised here than before so thats a plus.However her character needs some further work

I do not buy this lois being the most amazing woman Clark has met without showing what makes her amazing-see the smallville comic for example.Heck I dont buy Clark liking this lois-see smallville comic for how its done right.

Rocaforts art is gorgeous!Really rocafort is humiliating other artists.

Lobdells dialogue still grates me but is tolerable.

I have to say though I hate the fact that Clark has no close human relationship.This is so unsupermanlike-he isnt Batman!Unlike in Action comic Jim olsen is his best friend, bro whilst in this comic Jimmy is just an annoying mooch that Clark barely tolerates.Lois and clark may say that he they are best friends but from waht i can see they are friends grown apart.This Loner Clark just pisses me off

Anyways we got cat grant as a prospective friend.So ill comfort myself with that.

I am not gonna comment on the love triangle.The constant bickering on this is starting to piss me off
 
Superman was a great read again but I am about to drop Teen Titans. I have no interest in seeing both Superman and Superboy having the love of their lives stripped from them. Superman I can deal with because we all know the endgame is for him and Lois to be together but Tim and Cassie that's where I draw the line. For me if you are going to break up Lois and Clark you have to at least keep something in return and for me that was Cassie and Conner but the latest issue of Teen Titans just proves to me that will never happen again as well.

But Superman was great and I am loving this cross over. I now understand the Return to Krypton tease we got in Superman #0 and Supergirl #0 with both Superman and Superboy being on Krypton. I also love how they changed the relationship between Kon-El and Superman where Superman doesn't care that he is a clone he sees him as a person and wants to help. H'El though is pretty cool. I can't wait to see the JL try and take him on. This book should have tied into JL with how big this story seems to be instead of the Aquaman arc.

Action Comics was good, I love how in every story Grant Morrison writes, he writes the villain as the ultimate villain.
 
I like how he always give a story reason for giant retcons
 
Vyndiktvx is exactly the kind of threat Superman comics have needed. Larger than life and beyond linear and conventional comprehension. Really loved this issue and how it put the entirety of this run in perspective. Being attacked from all angles all across time is such a brilliant concept in it's simplicity and the execution so brilliant that I really do feel sorry for future Superman writers in a sense. The bar has been raised pretty freaking high.
 
Great issue of Action this month! Morrison nails it, as per usual. I actually seriously hope to see more of Lana in the future, now that we know she and Clark had a past. And of course Mxyzptlk is involved somehow. It wouldn't be an epic Superman story if he wasn't.

Now I'm just nervous for when Morrison leaves the book.

Just when I thought Morrison was going on auto pilot....he puts out such an amazing issue.

On a separate note, I just began my journey to read every issue of action comics ever published.
 
reading these original issues of action comics from the late 30's, its aaaaaamazing at how much of a dick superman was.

My favorite Superdickery from that time was when Supes decided to enforce speeding laws by flying offenders- still in their car, mind you- over to the police station.

Action Comics 12. That's the one I just read that left me slack jawed at his dickery.

A dude is killed by a wreckless driver. So superman decides he's gonna do something about the excessive traffic accidents in the city. He smashes through the window of the local radio station, breaks down the door to the radio booth, grabs the radio announcer by the head and shoves him aside, threatens the radio tech, then announces to the city that he's gonna clean up the roads, then he leaves the station by busting through the wall. He then goes on a rampage destroying people's cars, and even destroys an auto plant that makes crappy cars, with complete disregard for all the innocent workers in the plant who are caught up in his destruction and now have no job. Then, just as the radio station finishes patching up the wall superman destroyed, he barges back through the wall to make a new announcement. That's just a fraction of the dickery in that issue alone.

thats not really fair. this was one of the earliest examples of the character, not quite yet figured out. he didnt begin as the icon he is today, that took time to develop. and even when Superman's tactics in these early comics were jaw dropping, his intentions were every bit as heroic and noble as you'd expect from any example of the character.

i'm enjoying the hell out of these early stories. its gonna be interesting to witness the evolution of Superman's character.

Gotta love the classics. At the same time, though, that tone is very much what early Action is all about. The bit with Superman breaking through the newly fixed wall is exactly that sort of 1938-40 style of comedy those books took full advantage off. As ridiculous as the story seems today (when summarized, at least), there is very much a lovely charm to them.

there is so much love and charm to them. and to imagine a 10 year old kid getting a kick out of this caped strong-man breaking everything in sight all in the name of defending the oppressed....how perfect is that?

I totally agree. I have a complete run of all the major Superman titles from Action # 1 until DC changed to the New 52 on a portable drive and I love exploring the evolution of the character. I can only imagine what it was like being a kid back then and experiencing first hand the coming of Superman!:supes: For some reason for me the whole feel of the New 52 feels like a step backwards (but the latest Morrison story was very good, so I'm bearing up).
Still my biggest problem is with his current look; I don't think it will ever grow on me.:csad:
 
Golden Age Superman is flipping fantastic.
 
Actually I like Superman #14.
 
I am months behind in Action Comics, I hope to be able to pick it up soon. I'm sad that Morrison is leaving but the new creative team is pretty good.
