Look what FINALLY got some press news.

>With November's issue, Supergirl's going to enroll at Crucible Academy, a "super school" that trains beings of cosmic importance. Readers will meet the kick-ass Crucible staff, and Kara will have what Perkins calls a "scoobiegang" at Crucible, including Captain Comet (now just "Comet") and Maxima, as well as a new character called Tsavo, a super-werecat with his own agenda.

>We have a great mix of new and returning characters (as you can probably tell from issue #36's cover by the brilliant and talented Emanuela Lupacchino).

>Captain Comet — now just Comet — is back, as well as Maxima (both, of course, slightly reimagined). They're part of our galactic version of Kara's scoobiegang at Crucible.

>A new character in Kara's scoobies is Tsavo, an impassioned, driven super-werecat with his own agenda (maybe a nod to a certain meow in Kara's past?). He and Kara form a special relationship over the similar ways they see the world/universe.

What was wrong with the belt?
The design isn't to my liking and in the end, it's redundant. The suit is one full piece. Why is there a need for a belt?

season 11
As terrible in pretty much every way as Smallville is and always has been, I do like the costume in the comic. The two-tone blue is a bit more modern, but it's still simple enough to feel bold and timeless.

I'm in the minority in that I don't like the Smallville comic suit. The two tone blue looks like athletic/racer gear (though it matches the aesthetic of the show's proto-suits their League wore) and the belt looks like a sash thanks to it's colouring.

Same reason as the trunks - break up the color scheme a bit.

The Smallville suit is just the Earth One suit with a change to the belt and underwear. I still think DC should have just used the Earth One world to start their reboot. :(

Can't wait too see what the new Superman suit looks like in January.

If they are going to change his look, I think they should go back to the t-shirt and jeans look.

Or even better being back the classic pre New 52 costume.

If its happening under Johns and JRJR. You think Romita was the one to design it? I dont know how i feel about that. I am still guess that it is only temporary. BvS suit would be good though

I think it might be the New 52 suit, just without the collar. Look at this character sketch from Jason Fabok (the new Justice League artist). No collar in sight. Plus his JL cover, which if you look closely, looks like Supes bare neck has just been coloured blue temporarily.

While I do think removing his collar is an improvement, if his "New Suit" is just his old suit but with collar removed, that would be stupid.

The two things I hope they change are removing his collar, and giving him
classic boots.

And trunks, and removing all that unnecessary linework.

Basically, just give him back the classic suit.

Please no more trunks they look outdated..
Not really. Even though the trunks are a bit silly in concept, they're necessary because it breaks up all that damn blue. Without them, Superman's costume looks boring. The fact that they added in a neck collar and even longer sleeves, thus giving him even more blue, makes the New 52 suit look even worse.

Superman doesn't need to be hip and modern. He's Superman, and that's enough.

Superman doesn't need to be hip, but making him modern does give him a bit of relevancy. Getting rid of the trunks does not make Superman modern, though. He has to be put in the proper situations, the right characterizations, the correct environment. Things that no costume redesign will do.
