Absolutely; very well put.Not really. Even though the trunks are a bit silly in concept, they're necessary because it breaks up all that damn blue. Without them, Superman's costume looks boring. The fact that they added in a neck collar and even longer sleeves, thus giving him even more blue, makes the New 52 suit look even worse.
.....and again very well put.Superman doesn't need to be hip, but making him modern does give him a bit of relevancy. Getting rid of the trunks does not make Superman modern, though. He has to be put in the proper situations, the right characterizations, the correct environment. Things that no costume redesign will do.
I love this redesign of the Superman costume.![]()

My mother use to say If its not broken don't fix it. Superman is the only one who can pull off having underwear over tights. I say give him back his classic look cause I sure do miss it.
Peeked in for the first time to see what's up, and I see we're talking about bringing back the underwear. Superman is my favorite single character from any medium, but God do Superman fans get tiresome. Some of the most nostalgia-blinded, stuck-in-their-ways people. You guys are worse than old people at church.
"If it ain't broke don't fix it!"
"My generation was better!"
"If it was good enough for grandpappy then it's good enough for me!"
"It breaks up the blue!"
Cool that makes me feel a little better about BvS: DOJ.
