The Official Thor thread

I wouldn't say "butchered." It's just more of Western civilization's notion that everything must be reinterpreted endlessly.
Blouse? Most men of the Viking age wore long shirts...it's those darned Scott's and thier Kilts! lol
Long shirts, yes. Long t-shirts, no. Seriously, why can't Coipel just put a seam down the center of the shirt or have the colorist make the neck rim at the top gold or something? Anything to gussy it up a bit so it's not a bloody t-shirt. :(

How about taking on Disney for turning Hades, the one calm and rational god in the Greek pantheon into a Starscreem wannabe.... Or practically all the other people who've butchered mythology over the years.

You forgot how the Greeks portrayed him as a coward.

Did anyone see the new solicit for October? It looks awesome.

Scans? Links? Anyways I want to see Thor settle the whole Avengers dispute. He'll come down from the sky and say: "If doth art doneth acting like ********s...th(?) let us stand together as Avengers once again!"

I can assume have the guys who hear him say it won't understand a damn word but at least he tried.

I was highly pissed when I saw this sad excuse for a movie/cartoon. I also found it highly annoying when they made Hera a loving mother.

I agree Corp, even a "V" in the neck area would give it something, but the Gold trim IS a good idea.

He was in a Limbo-ish world not the reject realm of Dolce and Gabbana...though I shudder to wonder what that looks like...

This thread should be retitled the Thor fashion thread and leave the other one to talk about Thor himself. ;)

Come on, I'm sure most fans wouldn't disagree to seeing Thor bare-chested in all his Godly glory

Uh...I would.

The bare chested look comes of as being the most homoerotic "costume" choice of any A-lister I've ever seen. Not that there's anything wrong with being gay, but it's not Thor's character and it's way to distracting, in my opinion.

Tough. Thor don't wear spandex. He did sport that un-Asgardian looking piece in Marvel Vs. DC where he whooped Shazam! Captain Marvel though.

Thor's worn spandex for pretty much the entirety of my comic book reading life.

Hey man that's armour with six seperate breast plates. Get your fashion sense straight

shoot, even Hela wanted to see it and said so...

Back when she'd cursed Thor with brittle bones. He was heading to Hel to recover his body. She told Loki she wanted Thor to beg and see him

"stripped of his armor and laid naked in the dust before her eyes."

In an annual she nearly kissed him. Told Skurge she wanted to have a drink with Thor, then tried to get him under thrall before he became King Thor....

Horndog. :woot:

You know its funny, this sexualization thing. We see female heroes with pointless open areas in their costumes showing T/A, like wearing armor but then having your ass out and exposed??? Maybe one day we'll see the guys showing pointless D/A. Maybe Loki will wear thigh high boots and shorts with a dog collar. BWA HA HAAA...

Dyed blue linens man. The Odinson is way too cool for Spandex.

Harmless fun man. 'sides the new armour look is pretty cool though I was alot happier with King Thor. Ah well, it was too elaborate a design to be a long term thing anyways. The main character of any comic should be as easy to draw as possible considering how often the artist has to draw him/her.

Well I do have to agree, Spandex hasn't been around the ENTIRE time Thor has.

I still think of all the Golden Age Heroes in both Marvel and DC, Thor had the most "modern" design despite the fact he's supposed to be based on a Norse God. Way better than the Golden Age Iron Man whom was supposed to be the ost "modern" character of them all.
