The down side of moving it is alot of kids like mine can't stay up past 9. We enjoy Smallville as a family. I'm all for what is best for ratings though.
That's what they made TiVO for...

BTW: I signed up for volunteering as a Nielson family.

I have a DirecTV - TiVO DVR and they have a special thing where they pull your viewing data directly from your TiVO.

I was a bit worried about privacy stuff, but I figured there's nothing I watch I'd be embarrassed for other people to know about so I thought I'd help out the shows I like (Smallville, for example) by volunteering.

I filled out those little books before and it's hard to keep up with that, this will be way easier and if it helps SV's ratings, I'm all for it.

triplet, how did you go about volunteering? I'm interested too.

Isn't TIVO kind of expensive? I would love to be a Nielson family....muwhahaha the power!

lat nite my kid alerted me to a behind the scenes Smallville special on Nick it was very spread out. Not much new here's stuff I hadn't heard. KK was a gymnast in HS practicing 3-4 times a week. AM told a story about having to run and hug Tom when he is flexing and her head bouncing off his chest becuase he's so buff and she had to ask him to stop flexing. Tom saying his most embarassing moment on set was he had to hit this log and it was supposed to go in 30 pieces but it didn't break and he almost broke his hand. It wasn't his fault but he looked like an idiot. They were talking about what CD was in their player and Tom said it was boring because he had an audio book in there. That's about it.

Well, there was a message on my TiVO a few weeks back and I "replied" that I was interested... it was all done using my remote.

They called a couple weeks later, which was Saturday, I believe.

But it's only with DirecTV TiVO box users, not just TiVO users. I don't know if "TiVO" is doing something similar by itself...

No, it's not any more expensive than cable. I think we pay $39 or something like that for DirecTV and then another $10 for the TiVO subscription. The box was like $150, but they've got a special right now where you can get a TiVO DirecTV box for $49... dang it.

Bad for me since we paid $100 more but good for anyone thinking about getting DirecTV and TiVO.

;)

Thanks for this explanation. I only have TIVO and not Direct TV. Rats! I always wanted to do this - even if it is just a small part in the whole ratings systems process.

DTS had screen caps from this show. They're probably still up on the site (DTS), if folks want to see the clips.

I've heard this story before, but I don't remember which episode it's from specifically. Anybody? Buehler?

This scene I do remember - and I remember it for the same reason: I kept thinking "he's 'chopping' those logs pretty hard - that's gotta HURT!" LOL

Anyone know what episode this scene is from?

Yeah, sort of. Clark is angry over something that has him frustrated and starts "chopping" wood in the barn. With his hands. ;) Problem is, the logs are practically exploding when he hits them, which annoys Jonathan just a tad LOL. Loosely quoting from memory, Jonathan says "We need firewood, not toothpicks." Or something along those lines. Hee.

I can't remember off the top of my head which episode it was in though. Maybe early 3rd season?

Yeah, I can picture it but I don't remember which episode it was from either...

I think it was Kinetic from season one, when he's upset about "letting" Chloe fall out of the window.

Yep, that's it.

You've got a good memory.

That was a cool scene. Which brings me to my point: Favorite "powers" moment in the series (or at least top three if you can't narrow it down)

Mine would be Clark sticking his hand in the mulcher way back in the first episode and pulling it out unscathed, jumping to the Daily Planet (that was vewwy cool), and the different types of X-ray vision he got when he was getting used to that.

I think it was fromt the pilot when he first realized he was invulnerable, but the entire scene didn't actually make it into the show... I have the pilot script, so I can put in what was originally there.

This is just after Clark saves Lex he does CPR:

LEX
I could have sworn I hit you...

CLARK
Well, if you did, then I'd be..
(realizing)
...dead

Only now does the implication of what happened hit Clark. He looks back at the bridge, sees the mangled guard rail. He looks at his hands, not a scratch on them. He begins to tremble and the color drains from his face.

LEX
Kid, are you okay?

CLARK
Oh yeah, I'm fine.

But as the reality hits home, Clark passes out cold.

Then the following scene, where Clark is wrapped in the red blanket makes more sense, actually.

I have no idea why they cut that, maybe the fainting was too much, but that moment right before he fainted woulda be nice to see...

Tom Welling is SUPERMAN, This other guy Can go to Hell because I can't see this movie end up like BATMAN & Robin, which sucked.

It's definitely the eyes. Frank Herbert influenced AND bloodshot. They're just... well, not right in that manip.

I think one of Welling's most dynamic features is his eyes. They're bright and tend to change color depending upon the lighting. Their intensity is also emphasized by his dark hair and eyebrows, contributing to an already striking look.

And with some properly gelled Source Fours lighting the scene, who needs contacts or CGI?...

:p :D

Not that I exactly *want* to be fair to Routh, but still, five minutes of wasted time to make him look a little less drugged up...

Indeed. The eyes are the most important quality imo. Why they cast a brown-eyed Keanu clone is beyond me...

ouch!
What's wrong wth Keanu? He's not trying to be Superman! Lol.

Even clear-eyed, it's still a smart-assed punk look he's got in that manip. I have yet to see any of his guest appearances, but I certainly hope he's got a better live look than any of the ones I've see so far. A great jawline and a broad chin is just not enough to carry a whole film. <ducking>

Seriously, I would like to see him actually act in something, just to see how he moves and expresses himself. Pics alone just haven't impressed me.

Heh, excuses excuses :D.

My eyes are the same color as TW's, have to thank mom for that ;).
