BTW... just to be clear, I am in no way suggesting that there's gonna be some miraculous switch at the eleventh hour.
KABOOM! goes my religion.

So, Jason... if you do hear of Tom's next project, are you going to share the news with us, or will you make us wait to read it in the trades, or worse, hear it elsewhere?
James (;)) will leave that up to how things pan out if he finds out anything interesting. I can't guarantee anything because different information has different caveats attached. I wish that weren't the case, but alas.

OMG... :o

There is something *seriously* wrong with the part of my brain that knows your name but insists on calling you Jason! I apologize.. I think I need to cut back on the aluminum in my diet. No more pop in cans.

sheesh. I'd say it won't happen again, but I'm afraid it probably will. Brain damage is usually irreversible.

Don't worry, I don't mind... although lots of people just call me "J". You can't go wrong calling me that. :D

So, you're saying you've heard stuff but just can't say?

Can't you send a few discreet PM's to let us know?

I promise I won't tell a soul. ;)

As of now I can honestly tell you that I don't know what he's doing this summer. Possibly nothing. At this point that wouldn't surprise me much.

Well since he's free.. maybe we should plan a big summer gathering and invite him. :)

A Tom-Con. I'll book a hotel and you can all fly in.

Hey, dat's cool. Even if you can't say what it is, let us know that there's something on the horizon if and when you do hear somethin'.

What would folks like to see? I like sci-fi/fantasy stuff, but anything too genre-ish right now might box him in too much considering he's still on SV. As much as I'm not a fan of romcoms, I'd love to see Welling do one. CBTD was fun, but I'd rather see him play his actual age for once. Please? Perdy please? *sigh*

News just in: His thick, coarse, and glorious head of hair has been cast in the role of a 27-year-old toilet brush.

(One day i'll be sensible. That day is not today.)

I'd love to see him in a thriller with an edgy feel to it, or some kind of low budget indie, to develop some acting cred. Not that I think he needs to, mind you, but any lingering doubts on his acting ability need to be rest once and for all.

James, you're lucky we love you so much, otherwise we'd have to kill you. :p

Something like Memento would be fan-freakin'-tastic. But those type of films don't come around too much, alas.

Yes, indeed! And luckily for him, he's talented enough NOT to need an "actor's director" to yank it out of him. *ahem* He'll bring to the role that which he innately already is inside, as well as a convincing facade that he's required to don for the character itself.

LOL! Too true.

Well, things come along... I'm working on something I would love to see him in, but I gotta finish writing it first. Dang it. I'm blocked, but I'm getting some help with that...

Exactly!

He's gotten so good at acting, he needs something that will let him shine.

How about a porno flick?

TV actors get knocked a lot, and Tom's no different. But the fact of the matter is, if you do *anything* for 16 hours per day, nine-ten months per year, and you do it for four years +, you're bound to get re-heeeely good at it. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING can beat on-the-job-training. Welling has many advantages that a lot of actors can only dream about having.

Yeah, but you gotta be willing to learn and I think some actors get so cocky (I've known a few in my younger days that would totally fit that bill) that they don't think they need to learn anything new.

Tom is humble enough and open to keep on learning, that's why he's improving. If he were any other man, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Well, if he were any other man I probably wouldn't be here so, you know... ;)

Anyway, I really think Tom is unique in that regard. How many other actors just starting out get the kind of kudos he gets from his fellow actors?

He's charming, smart, talented, drop dead gorgeous, dearly loves his wife, a really nice guy and humble enough to understand that more experienced actors might just be able to show him a thing or two even four years on....

He's one in a million. No two ways about it. :D

Lots of movies I watch lately I can't help but think, I wish Tom had been in this =( Luckly I read alot and can cast him in books. I hope he's found something interesting enough to give up a vacation for.

No. No no. No no no. No flick of any sort. A flick could damage him. Or were we not referring to flicking him??

So confused...

:p

Waaaah, Tom should have played Aragorn.

True

:sigh:

It's good to be among people who like Tom again.

Another newb started a flame war over on the WHSNBN thread... it's getting ugly again. A lot of "Welling can only play YOUNG Clark Kent" or "he won't have a career after SV" etc, etc.

The unending merry-go-round makes me tired, so I'm going to go to bed.

I don't have the patience for that crap anymore. If they come here and peddle it, I'm game, but I won't wander into unpleasant neighborhoods if I don't have to.

cant say I'm innocent in that, out of nowhere right after a HWSNBN manip, some clown posts "How anyone can say Welling looks more like Superman than Routh is beyond me?" So I post a manip and say "Welling looks more like Superman than Routh" that of course incited the usual morons, who came to iit like a moth to a flame...so predictable and sad really... :)

I'm of like opinion, though I do occasionally cruise over yonder to see what's new. If a thread title looks interesting, I'll venture in. Don't know why though 'cause I usually end up frustrated, disappointed, or just downright confused. We're told to sit and be patient and not make rash judgments until the film comes out because nobody knows anything about the plot or script, yada yada. Yet those same people are making definitive statements about characters and other script-related info (no Otis, no Tesmacher, etc. etc.)

wtf.gif

Didn't one of the recently cast actors say he was only allowed to read his character's sides with two armed guards watching over him to avoid script leaks?

Gah! Yes, I digress. And I'm horribly off topic. The film is soooo far away anyway. I'd MUCH rather discuss SV at this point. At least we can look forward to a new episode of that. Tonight! :D
