I honestly don't think the other images they used had been altered all that much...

That we know about. It's hard to tell from any of those photos. We just know Welling's because, well, it's Welling. LOL I don't know who some of those other folks even are, let alone what they'd be known for, abs or anything else. [shrugs]

complaints about Tom's skin looking like plastic in recent promos aren't for nought.

Which promos? The full body ones where he's barefoot and wearing black? BTW, what's up with the barefoot thing? WHY did they do that? Not that I care either way, just curious. Can't be to make him look shorter or anything, 'cause Durance was barefoot too.

check his pecs in the full version of the promo - yikes, they're a drawn-in line. This was (obviously) before he'd worked out and grown his "wings".

And I never said his abs aren't great, I said they're not quite *that* great. Which they're not. So nyah!

FROM IGN, regarding leaks about WB's decision to recast characters for a Babylon 5 movie:
While all of this seems exciting for the [Babylon 5] fans, the people that helped bring the series to life seem to be the last ones to know anything about it. Actor Jerry Doyle, who played Security Chief Garibaldi for all five years of the original series, told IGNFF, "I wish them well," indicating that he has nothing to do with the project. Other actors have stated privately that they have heard less than nothing about the project when asked for comment. Fans have already begun a campaign to keep the original actors in their respective roles, the main comment being that they didn't buy all those DVD sets just to see a film produced with an all new cast.

I know this is the TW thread, and I am not a fan of B5, but I posted it because the fan outrage reminds me of another certain television show which WB decided to "recast" for a movie.

Unfortunately, this is apples and oranges my friend. If it was a Smallville movie, it would be on point, but the Superman movie is a whole nother ball of wax.

All of 'em! His skin is flawless and unnatural... It's been the same for the past four years. They airbrush until his skin is as smooth as porcelain.

I know that. I was just meaning it was before he did his whole upper body workout, incorporating all of that. Someone who works their chest without working their back, shoulders, etc. is going to look very lopsided. Not saying it doesn't happen, of course ...

But I wasn't arguing either. In fact, my first post in response was "leave it to James." What I meant by that is your tendency to be realistic and fair in your opinions about our favorite ab man LOL. Take it as a compliment - especially since you have a fansite for the guy.

Thanks to Pickle, I can't even post an opinion on the Supes' boards anymore because I've now been labeled a "fanatic." Welling is a fun topic from various POV, and I love Smallville, but I'm pretty far from being a fanatic. Geek, maybe. Fanatic, no.

Oh I know. But to me, seeing a different Clark, Lois, Ma & Pa Kent and Lex on screen will have the same effect. They aren't the ones I'm familiar with. Especially Kal-El because Chris Reeve and Tom Welling have already convinced me.

Just like Triplet has the little snippet about Ross and his comments....(which is waaay off btw, because even I know that TW is a prettier fella than BR) Para made a funny comment, people keep them in their sigs all the time. I didn't see a hissy fit when the initial comment was made. If I hurt anyone's feeling's I apologize, that was not the point. I thought some of you would *get it* after all these threads and posts the last 6 months.....sheesh.

That's your opinion, and that's cool.(Remember though, WHOEVER would have been cast, has huge red boots to fill)...but honestly, does it sound like I'm personally attacking Pat or something like that? Cuz I don't think I am.....maybe my sense of what constitutes humorous lines differs from everyone else....you'd swear I was posting rude remarks, or god forbid starting threads titled:

'Thank God Tom Welling ISNT Superman'
'Is Smallville the biggest disaster ever on Primetime TV?"
'The WB and Smallville smeared their mark on Supermans Fruit Of The Loom , Lynch'Em!'

That goes without saying, and I think it is a bit unfair to put that burden on someone who isn't used to being famous.

I hope he doesn't regret taking the part because, unless he's absolutely stellar and does something to totally make the part his, he'll be compared unfavorably to both Reeve and Welling.

I'm not sure how it sounds, maybe a little bit of a bash but I'm not Pat. You'd have to ask her how she really feels.

I'm with her on this at least: She's not happy with whathisname, and woulda preferred Welling, but she's hardly as deluded as some who still hope Routh will somehow disappear and TW gets the part...

Here's my somewhat biased take on the Ross quote. He refers to HWSNBN as a pretty boy because that's all he sees him as. Perhaps Ross feels that while TW is miles prettier, he's also a lot more than just a pretty boy and therefore not in the same category.

I say this because, with the respect that Ross has for the Superman character and his often expressed desire to see Tom play him, obviously Ross sees Tom as possessing everything it takes to respectfully fill those big red boots.
