I was surprised at the number of times they used the clips from his music video. He was so young then and his body was not nearly as defined looking in that video as it is in more recent years. I suppose it was still defined, but those clips just didn't show it.

Yeah, but he was so cute. :) I just associated them using it with the fact that it was VH-1.

The image of those swinging hips will help get me through my day today. :D

It's the nature of the show he was profiled on. This is VH1, after all. Like MTV, their focus is music videos, so it doesn't surprise me. I do think its funny how much they emphasized the Superman aspect though. Look back through the transcript, which is word for word, btw. "Clark Kent" is nowhere to be seen. Heh!

And the latest CBtD news...

Check out the last sentence.

Oh, the irony. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

"...the genius behind The Jerk and The Man With Two Brains continues to sell himself short by starring in a sequel to Cheaper by the Dozen. He's once again paired with director Adam Shankman, who he previously worked with on Bringing Down The House to great box office success if not critical acclaim.

This time, Martin's twelve-kid family go on holiday, and find themselves in head-to-head competition with a family of eight who are staying nearby. Can sheer numbers win the day? Probably, but only if they learn that it’s silly to compete and we should all just get along first. Or something.

Don't be surprised in this case if some family members appear to be on holiday elsewhere – Hilary Duff, whose own tweenie movie career has taken off recently with two pictures currently in production, may not sign back on. And just think – if Bryan Singer had cast Tom Welling in Superman Returns, he could have saved him from this indignity too..."

Lets hope he's "busy" with something else if and when the call comes in. ;)

*************

On another topic, Variety published a VERY informative list of cablettes yesterday. Here's the details for ABC Family:

Subscribers: 88 million
Network topper: Paul Lee
Head of programming: Kate Juergens
Top originals: Snow, Crimes of Fashion, Celeste in the City (movies)
Upcoming originals: Beautiful People (series), Las Vegas Garden of Love (series), Looks of Love (series)
The skinny: ABC Family has long made up for the misfires of 2003 ("Dance Fever," "Perfect Match" and never-aired "Domestic Goddess") with strongly performing acquisitions "Gilmore Girls," "Smallville," "Full House" and "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" Now, under the aegis of Paul Lee, ABC Family is re-embarking into original series that embrace families "in all their diversity and dysfunction." Docusoap "Las Vegas Garden of Love" is up first and follows the day-to-day of a family-run Vegas chapel. Net's first scripted hour, "Beautiful People" -- about a single mom and her two daughters -- will premiere later in the summer.

Of the entire list, only A&E, CNN, Lifetime, Nick at Nite, Nickelodeon, TLC, and USA equaled ABC Family's 88M total subscribers, and only the Discovery Channel (89M), ESPN (90M), MTV (90M), TBS (89M), TNT (89M) had more. By next year, people might wonder if you've been living under a rock if you've never heard of Smallville. ;)

Ok why can't I register at DTS? You can't lurk anymore and no matter how many times I try it won't recognize me. I want to scream!!!!!

Sorry to hear you're having problems there, Lara. Try deleting your cookies and give it another whirl. Sometimes they hang things up if you inadvertently declined accepting them at one point.

In the mean time, maybe this will cheer ya up...

Twin Toms!

OMG! Just think of it!

LOL!

I think I'd die of a heart attack if I saw two of them coming at me at the same time!

Lara, are you on AOL by any chance? I had problems when I initially registered..I had to login in one specific way. Now I have it set to remember me and I never have a problem. PM me if you are on AOL..

I agree!! I'd probably pass out if just one came my way! :)

I'm not sure how that's done (photography wise), but I do know it's done on purpose for just that reason. There's another photo in the same issue - same shoot, different pose, wicked dilated pupils - which I'll scan tonight. I lost the battle around 11 last night and couldn't keep my eyes open any more - as much as I wanted to. ;)

BTW... speaking of SV magazine (I *should* post this in the other TW thread, but I don't want to stir the pot  ), who else here has that issue now? I've been waiting to see somebody mention the update on Singerman, but NOBODY - not even K-Site - has brought it up. And since Craig was QUOTED, I'm kind of surprised it's been mum. Is everybody just giggling to themselves and being shutupum on purpose? Just wondering. :D

Oh, absolutely. I'm sure the photographer is well aware of emotional response connection to dilated pupils.

Pictures like that make my eyes dilate! :D

I haven't gotten the issue yet (later today). Can you quote it? Or PM?

I don't have the mag with me at work, but it's nothing "new." Everything they print is about two months old, but I was surprised to see what they chose this time around. Prior to this issue, all of their Singerman updates have been pretty basic - just the facts maam - that kind of stuff. This time though, I discerned a wee bit of snark, and I just had to laugh.

Basically, they quoted Wizard magazine and the individuals (like Ross, Loeb and Durance) who were asked about the casting. *ahem* And while they didn't quote Craig by name, I KNOW where they got a particular comment from. I'm paraphrasing what was a word for word quote, but they pondered how Superman could "return" and inexplicably look younger than his teenage self. ROFLMFAO!! Craig gets three thumbs up for that one. :D

The quote is, "The movie is said to feature Superman returning to Earth after a prolonged absence, but it doesn't explain how he now manages to look younger than his teenage self." If I'm not mistaken, that is word for word what Craig had written over on K-Site. It just cracked me up. Well, that and all the quotes from Wizard. ;)

Anyhoo... here's another scan from the mag:

Such an astonishing looking man...

I wonder if the Fog started filming today
Actual production supposedly started on March 1st, but I'm not sure when principal was skedded for, and more specifically, when Welling would be needed. I would imagine pretty soon - if not already. He's only the star LOL. ;)
