I've kinda looked over some horror/genre fan sites and the IMDB forum recently and most horror fans have kinda turned around on the topic of the remake.

I think they're hearing good things (like Curtis maybe signing) and not letting their fears over remaking a "classic" horror (I think it's debatable how classic it is, however) get the best of them.

Funny thing. Wizard ran a story a couple years ago (during the whole Ratner/McG drama) about how they'd do the Superman movie. Their top two casting decisions? Welling for Superman, Blair for Lois.

I guess everyone can watch the Fog and just pretend it's Superman (as I'm sure Welling's character will perform some derring do).

Dark and dank. One end of the boathouse is open to the harbor. Some long boards make a bridge over the sea water that covers the recessed floor, lapping against the mossy stoned walls.

SPOONER enters looking for NICK

SPOONER
Yo Nick!

NICK (O.S)

In here.

NICK stands shirtless, hair wet from a shower. He buttons his jeans, snaps on his watch in a hurry.

SPOONER comes in drinking a cold beer.

SPOONER
Think they’ll come back next year?

NICK
Would you?

SPOONER
You know that wasn’t my fault

NICK eyes him sideways

SPOONER
You’re so sexy when you’re mad

NICK (takes Spooner’s beer, drinks)
I’m in a hurry Spooner, don’t bug me

SPOONER
But we still got decks to swab

I gotta run over to Little Rays and pick up the rings for that bilge pump

Elizabeth’s three thousand miles away. Whats she gonna do, write her a letter?

SPOONER

She opens the door, gets in.

Suddenly she's all over him and he just rolls with it. Soon they are reaching inside each other's clothes, popping buttons...

ELIZABETH (stopping)
And Nick? Next time, open the door for a lady.​

And as they go at it again, sliding down into the seat...

EXT. ELIZABETH'S HOUSE - NIGHT

Elizabeth runs out of the door, furious, when she sees...

Nick's truck - still parked out front.

INT. NICK'S TRUCK - NIGHT

She comes over to the window.

ELIZABETH
You waited?​

Nick looks at his watch, mock surprise on his face...

NICK
Lasted about thirty seconds longer than I thought you would...​

This time, he opens the door for her...

NICK
What now?

ELIZABETH
Let's go to your place.

NICK
And have wild sex?

ELIZABETH
With a strange hitch-hiker? You wish.​

INT. NICK'S BEACH HOUSE - NIGHT

Camera moves into a steamy bathroom, shower running, mirror, and glass door fogged. Elizabeth's hand presses against the shower glass, wipes clear a streak. Nick is behind her, kissing her shoulders, her neck, her ear...

I have a suspicion that this movie may not be PG-13...

It's difficult to tell, a script can be deceiving because of the numerous ways that it can be filmed. It could be filmed in a way that isn't very blatant and be an easy PG-13, or it could be filmed like a REAL horror film - which I want!

The script reads like a 15 certificate in the UK.

Exactly as written it would be tough to make this PG-13 (basically equivalent to a UK 12), but with a few changes it could be done.

Let's put it this way: even one or two of the more violent episodes of Smallville have been released with a 15 certificate over here, and they're nothing compared to what I've seen of this script.

I hope it's R to. Especially if it's this kind of R. PG 13 movies do make more, but this movie isn't highly bugeted and there is a market for R rated movies especially with a Haloween release.
