 :) A winner, each and every one of those shots.

When he was hugging Jonathan I thought he was really going to break down, but he remained strong for their sake.

I've been a Superman fan since I was 3 yrs old sitting in a theater watching Superman the movie, and have read a decent amount of comics going back to the 1940's. I have a good knowledge of every incarnation of the character over the past 70 years, and what was added/changed when. I went to Metropolis, IL to go to the Superman festival. Hell I even wrote a thesis paper on the character. I used to bartend and give anyone with the "S" shield on something free drinks, "just because" .. but I've begun to hate certain sects of the fanbase due to their ignorance of the character thats been displayed on the Net, and thats something I'd NEVER thought I'd say.:(

You know what ? I can relate to everything you just said (funny enough I also wrote a paper on Supe) and in reality I think it's really said what has come to. I think there's few things that can irritate me as much as when some idiot starts bashing SV and then to support it's claim starts by saying that the "real Superman fans" yadda yadda...
It's a thing that as long time fan insults me and even though I know there are fans that watch it that weren't followers of Superman (at least by then) that don't mind this as much as me, but it's really just stupid that they almost appoint themselves as rulers of a pseudo-elite group (of the real Superman fans) and basically say to us who love and devote ourselves to this show that we're not worthy to belong to their little group, when in reality Superman belongs to all of us, means different things to different ppl and will always be here and will always be reinvented. And this show like it or not made millions like me, like Hulk and many great ppl in here either to fall in love with the character or rekindle the passion that froze over time due to atrocious comic book writing and less than passionate encarnations.

You can include me in your group.

I wasnt quite 3 when I watched the Superman Movie in the theatre, I was more like a teenager, and when I used to come home from school, when I was a little lass, the old Superman TV show used to be on every night and I'd sit there glued to the TV.

There is just something about this character and Smallville and Tom Welling have encompassed so much more into the storytelling that it has become my favourite Superman tale.

Hey guys! I knew you would love this. I saw this posted at another board. Hopefully someone can get screencaps of the deleted scenes.

I don't think this has been discussed on here, but I've been going through the first disc of Undeclared (damn, I miss that show) and on the commentary track for the pilot they talk about TW for a little bit (he has a cameo in the episode). The producer and director were talking about something and then TW shows up onscreen and they interrupt to say "That's Tom Welling! That's Superman, goddammit!" They said that when they met him they thought "this guy is gonna be Tom Cruise" (meaning "a big star" not "a crazy Scientologist") but they didn't really have a role for him on the show. Then literally a month later is when he got Smallville and everyone at Undeclared was "laughing their asses off" because they had known he would make it big and they were just amazed at how quickly it happened. They said Tom was really nice and was willing to come back if they wanted him for other episodes.

Also, Tom is in a little of the unaired footage in the DVD extras. (Just an alternate/extended version of the scene he's in). What's amusing is that Tom's role is the scene is basically just to contrast how much better-looking he is than two of the main guys on the show. One guy keeps talking about how they need to invite only ugly guys to their party, cause if Tom is there, the girls will obviously choose him instead.

Thanks for posting that, that's so cool. Sounds like its worth buying the box set just for that.

Cool! I acutally own that set (I used to absolutely love that show), and have yet to listen to the commentary, guess I know what I'll be doing tonight:)

Is it worth buying? I've never seen the show before, apart from the clip that Tom is in.

It was worth it for me, but it was a show I loved..I'd suggest renting it first, and seeing if you like it.

Do you belong to Netflix? they usually have everything, if not, atleast get it on ebay or something, I wouldn't pay full price for something I may not even like. If you've liked anything else Judd Apatow has done, you may really enjoy it. The humor is pretty dry for the most part.

Thanks, I'll check it out.:)

I would definitely recommend renting it first to see if you like the show. It's NOT worth buying just for Tom, unless you're a little bit insane ...

Tom's portion of the extended/deleted/whatevered scene is identical to the aired version, and the commentary is nice but nothing Judd Apatow hasn't said before. Still, it was an excuse for me to finally unlock my DVD drive and buy that multi-region DVD player. So I ain't complaining.

^^---- Thanks... I don't think I'd heard that one...

:D

Thanks for posting that, I never heard it either. He says some very interesting things too.

My favorite line - "..only when I ask her.."

Kiki, that was fabulous. The best interview I heard out of all those premiere interviews. And it also gave us some answers to some burning questions. Thanks a heap for posting the link.

I thought it was a lucky find....I have to admit I was looking for more news on a certain rumor floating around. I am very happy that I have found none.

Indeed. Guess we can put THAT to bed now, eh folks? LOL

Thanks Kiki.

He's still the King of Non Answers though.

Oh... OH... a "costume" question.

Wait for it.... wait for it.....

[waiting]

[insert lame joke instead of a real answer]
