Revenge of the Fallen The official Transformers:Revenge Of The Fallen movie critics review thread

BTW Ebert liked TF1 but didn't like robots fighting in TF1 and cause TF2 has more robot fighting he doesn't like TF2. If TF2 had more human interaction than TF1 Ebert would probably liked it.

Film Critics just offer their opinion when they review movies. That's all it is just his or her opinion. All that matters is what you think

He didn't like the fighting because it suffered from major blur factor because of how intricate the robots looked ..... I sort of agree in that department.

Man critics SUCK man!

I respect when they review a Well-acted, great, smart movie High, but once a movie is ALL about action/special effect, they can't stand it. They just don't like Action/FX movies that much.

Have they ever?

Funny thing is, Batman Dark Knight is really good, but TDK did not have much Special Effects, and action is certainly much much less/different than these transformer's.

They just DON'T get it! A movie CAN also be great when it's Action-packed NONSTOP!!!

It needs NO masterpiece plot or acting!

I'm losing faith in this place. I really, really am.

:facepalm ughhhhhhhhhhh

Saw it...meh first one was better
but I do think that some critics are eing overly harsh with it

That's just what they do! They base Everything on Plot, Acting, and if those sucks the movie MUST suck, to them.

If you thought the first one was way better, then clearly the rating by the critics is exactly right.

Even the first one was also Negative, but only a little better.

But ask yourself, is the ACTION in this movie NOT better than the first one?

THAT IS what really matters!!!

To the two above posters, what are you trying to say?

HAHAHAHAHAHA...oh my days!!! If i was the type of person to write horrible internet acronyms, i would be laughing out load now. I think that first line would be sig worthy if it was written a little more coherently.

Are you real? You've gotta taking the piss, dude!

If that is your honest opinion, you'll love ROTF.

No none of that matters in this movie, which is why its a big flaming pile.

The Autobots serve virtually no purpose in this movie.

Thank you Ebert for saying what he did about the robot designs.

^ And you believe that???

This movie will 99,9% for sure be a ****ing embarrassing experience! I have no doubt that it'll be complete and utter crap, filled with only fantastic effects.... And yet still, I'm seeing it tonight!.... Why is it that I need to see this ****??? I dont get it.

This is why I don't trust anyone who has a twitter account..........including you

Most Twitter users are everyday folks. The type of people that make up the general audience. And the great majority of said everyday folk are loving the film.

Whether that translates into YOU loving the film is a completely different matter. But just as I expected, this negative buzz from critics and the internet diehards won't mean a lick in the long run.

From what you guys say, the autobots are the badass mother****ers in this movie and all the decepticons have are numbers. Even with the Fallen and Devastator on their side they stand no chance. So i dont get how the autobots serve no purpose in this movie.

Secondly, what did Ebert say about the robot designs?

And that's because these tentpole flicks are basically critic proof due to insane advertizing blitzes that bring in the sheeple who will see any movie that they see enough ads, tie ins, and products for. 90% of American movie goers are also so used to this kind of movie because it's gratifying on a very basic level that doesn't require taste or erudition. Are there boobies and giant robots and stuff blowing up? People will enjoy it because it's easy and cheap and vulgar and stupid. And that's what people go to the movies to see these days: easy and cheap and vulgar and stupid. TDK was an exception last year, but the massive financial success of TF 2 (and the general public's opinion that the film is "awesome") is a sign of a significant downward trend in our culture. American movie goers now have the taste and sophistication of 12 year old boys.

Great post!

Great summer popcorn flick. Nothing more .. nothing less. Great film overall. Don't listen to the haters, just go see it. Have fun. Whether you're 12 years old or not. ;)

Ugh...based on these reviews I am DEFINITELY skipping this. Ill watch it on tv. I was contemplating whether I should have watched it or not but the overall consensus is that it is much worse than the first...and honestly the clips were very cringeworthy.

To be fair though, the general audience has always enjoyed seeing a big, dumb, and loud movie. It's not like this trend is anything new. Why do you think Bay's still in business? The huge success of this movie shouldn't surprise anyone.

Took the words right out of my mouth, and put them in a much better order

I don't see why we have to settle with less and less every year.
The words "summer popcorn movie" used to mean something good and fun.
Now, those words are used to defend 100% utterly stupid movies, because "hey, you're supposed to turn your brain off!" :whatever:

F that :down

Oh I know. It's basically the fault of people like him and Roland Emmerich and Jerry Bruckheimer. I'm not saying it's a surprise, but it's still disgusting. Sometimes big, dumb, loud movies can be fun. But when they're infused with misogyny, racism, gung-ho warmongering and vulgarity packaged as "cool, dumb fun for everyone!" it's a serious cultural issue.

Can't believe how offensively bad this movie was. Still trying to deflate my body from all the crap I witnessed. :(

Then this is the worst great summer popcorn flick to ever grace the screen. The fact is, a great summer popcorn flick is NOT dull.

I went in hoping to see Autobots beating on Decepticons. (and visa versa)

:)

I mean something is wrong if one of the movies I was heavily anticipating makes me fall asleep.

No thanks to over dramatizing shots that hold no significant value and is being done over a span of 2 hours + without any progression of story whatsoever.

Are we really settling for less year in and year out when basically from the end of August to January, we're treated with mostly Oscar bait films that the critics slobber over year in and year out...that for some reason, no studio is confident to let these films have a wide release during that time so audiences could actually see good to great films?

Seriously...there's room for all kinds of films. I find it really, really interesting that everyone is taking Michael Bay to task for this film and yet when the torture porn films hit the market between August and October, nobody says spit?

Go to town on those films not something that's just basically there to sell toys.

Not really defending the film but Christ, Michael Bay is the least of this industry's problems on a yearly basis.

Uh, people do take torture porn to task. Regularly. You're just not paying attention.
