The Official Vertigo Thread

I plan to pick it up, but might wait for the TPB. I don't know, though, it's a pretty decent price for HC. I, too, am very intrigued by the concept.

I don't think there would be a non-HC release when it's a book that went straight to HC as its first release. Normally isn't it soft to hard and the hard always has extra information/stuff in it?

Hm, no, it's generally HC to TPB as far as I know. All of Vertigo's other GNs that started in HC has come to TPB, so I don't see why this would be an exception.

Yeah, that's how it goes. All of the original GNs that's been released in HC came to softcover, like How to Understand Israel in 60 Days or My Cuba.

I'll probably wait for the tpb as well simply because I'm spending so much on comic books right now i have to save money where I can :oldrazz:

All I can saw is Sweet Tooth is an AMAZING book. It just gets better and better with each issue. Plus this arc has Matt Kindt doing the art? It's just magical. More people need to be reading this book!

I started reading Flight of Angels last night and I'm about halfway through. I'm really enjoying it. The art is awesome, too. If you like Fables I don't see why you shouldn't give it a try.

It isn't the same thing 100% but Willingham actually does tell one of the small tales in it and overall it has a similar vibe in that you have these fairy tale creatures figuring out what to do with this angel that just fell into their forest and is unconscious.

The previews of that looked interesting. I didn't know it was actually out already. Gotta get it at some point...

It looks like they're switching Vertigo over to same day digital too. Last week, the newest issue of Sweet Tooth was out, and now this week The Unwritten came out.

I've read 11 or 12 issues of it...and I just can't get into it. It feels like the plot moves way too slowly.

Yeah, that was announced at Comic-Con

Huh. I didn't see any of my various news sources report it.

****ing ****s.

I blame you for not posting it here when you saw it.

I wasn't registered here when I first saw it, so it would have been very difficult to do so.

Oh, you win this round.

I guess that I can see that but after issue 12 or so it really picks up and, honestly, it's just some really great comics. I thought the first arc was pretty slow going as well but I'm glad that I stuck with the series.

I finally got around to Spaceman # 1 and wasn't too impressed. Risso's art was freakin' amazing but the story really wasn't doing anything for me. I'll stick with it for a few more issues to see where it goes but for now it's just kinda "Meh".

Holy ****! I own all the trades but I might have to get this. It would be nice to have one giant block of Morrison craziness that could kill someone sit on my bookcase.

Waiting for the inevitable Doom Patrol and Animal Omnibuses. :) Glad i just used my local library for these books! Knew the wait is going to pay off. :P

Now that is one HUGE Omnibus! I've been wanting to get the Invisibles trades and I may just have to save up and just go with that Omnibus. However, if I get the trades from In Stock trades I may get them cheaper....I'll have to compare.

Probably also going to pick up Deadenders, Midnight Days, and Get Jiro.

That is a lot of ****ing book. Might have to give this series a read finally to see if something like that is worth buying.

I'm mainly curious about if that Omnibus will may feature some extra material, mainly the letter pages from the original single issues that I hear was pretty cool. I have the whole series in TPB, so I don't know if I'm going to make the jump and upgrade. Just too much cost to upgrade when you own the series already.

If they do a Doom Patrol one, though, I may pick it up. I only have the first two TPBs of that that series and got them pretty cheap.

That would actually be really neat if it had extras like that

I own the trades but I'm tempted to buy the Omnibus too
