Jason Bateman =Hank Pym

Nuff said.

Simon Baker

I so very much love these three choices. Kudos gentlemen

As for Wasp, I say go Ultimate. Very seldom do you see a strong Asian female hero in a movie, it would be refreshing. As for actress, Maggie Q.

I was thinking a lot about Kyle McLachlan lately. (Maybe because of the Twin Peaks marathon we did over the holidays) Anyway, I think he would be a brilliant Hank Pym

Especially comparing this (bordering on "not suitable for work") pic of Hank

Michelle Rodriguez. for Wasp. But I like Baker, he looks like a wife beater.

I completely forgot that that he was cast in Iron Man

Have to wiki to see who the hell Justin Hammer is.

For the record simply hate Twilight but i think Greene will be the biggest from the cast and think she has a Kate Beckinsale like beauty to her really.
I can see her as wasp for some reason.
But maybe in Avengers 2 though.

She definitely looks spot on, haven't seen her in anything though. What's she been in? If she's a good actress, that's a definitely a casting I can get behind.

Ok after doing an IMDB and Google Image search, I realize I have seen her in plenty of things and, yes, I would totally be for this casting.

Current top picks:
Simon Baker
Rose Byrne

Rose was in Sunshine and also 28 Weeks Later so she doesnt have a problem with genre/scifi type stuff either.

The only other person who came to mind when thinking of Van Dyne was Ashley Judd.

I sort of prefer Rose though, shes a bit less known, but they they seem to be going for known names when casting these parts.

These casting choices are a bit older but that doesnt seem to be a problem as Downey, Norton and such all all in the mid30 - early 40s range.

Not really, Byrne is only 30. Simon Baker is 40 but could totally pass for 35 or so. That's about as old as I would expect the characters to be.

If they made the Avengers 10 years ago, I'm not sure anyone but Ashley Judd could have played Wasp.

Well Ashley is 40. Downey is 44. Baker is 40.

Im remembering Van Dyne being a bit younger than Pym. I might be wrong about that as its been while since I read the comics. I wouldnt have a problem with Ashley at all since we're only talking about 5 years if a 40 or so was cast as Pym and most of the people being mentioned are in that area.

It would depend on how shes written. I think Ashley would prob come off being a bit more scrappy as Wasp than Rose. But I think both are good choices.Theyre the ones that came to mind and I really couldnt think of anyone else. They just seemed to match to me.

IMHO the choices for the movie are disappointing. I can understand SHIELD being there as theyve been introduced and such, but why War Machine when Iron Man is already part of the team? Black Widow?

Im not even a big Antman fan and maybe Im just showing my age... But Pym and Wasp just belong as part of the team. Like Iron Man and Cap,throughout all the roster changes, theyve always been there.

Ive said this a few times here but the scrapped Antman movie by Wright was a huge missed opportunity. I could have introduced Pym, Van Dyne, SHIELD, Ultron(a primitive version) and prob Hawkeye as well. Theres the foundation for a Avengers movie right there. I also think Antman would have made a really cool scifi movie.

This would have given you Capt America, Iron Man, Antman, Wasp and Hawkeye(my pick for the starting team). With appearances by Thor and maybe Hulk somewhere in there.

We don't no wether or not Warmachine is in the movie. And yes, his character would be reduntant. I also agree that both Ant-Man and Wasp are integral parts of the team, like Iron Man, Cap or Thor. But Black Widow as Avenger / SHIELD agent is very popular. And there are reasons for that. She is one of very few "super spy" characters in the Marvel Universe and her skills are a good complement to the other team members.

Ashley Judd is still a decent choice, I was just saying she would've been perfect when she was 30.
